INSIDE THE AMISH COMMUNITY: A road trip through Lancaster/Pennsylvania

An exciting trip to the land of the Amish, a glimpse into their way of living and their community. Visit the most interesting places of Pennsylvania and Lancaster County and find out more about the oldest Amish settlement in the USA.
In the state Pennsylvania in the United States of America, there exists a very special community. A community barely touched or influenced by technology or the pace of our modern, digital world. I set out on a road trip through Lancaster County in Pennsilvania to find out more about these people. Join a trip to the land of the Amish, get to know their way of living and visit the most interesting places of the area with me.

Not really, they weird asf, you wanna get "ShUNnED"for having a doll with a face as a kid? Riding a bike? Taking a photo or video? Doing anything "wOrLDLY" basically existing will get you banished from Baptism and you go to hell. No phones, no cars, no paintings on the wall, must have a neck beard, can't shave. So lame bruh. Must wear long sleeve shirt and many more stupid rules and if u don't follow them u go to hell and get shunned and disowned by everyone

Thanks for the tour of Lancaster county! I’ve lived in the county for about 70 years and you pointed out a few places I never visited like the pretzel stand. From my experience with the Amish, I find them honest, hard working and loyal people. They live and work with the “English” society but maintain a barrier so as to preserve their simple life. Good people.

They left the Air Force after one enlistment and settled there in Lancaster County.....and started having babies!!! I'm not sure how many but at least 6 or 7....or more! Such a sweet couple, who are actually Mormon and not Amish. That part of Pennsylvania reminds me A LOT of the Rheinland Pfalz area of Germany....where I spent almost half of my Air Force career. It's no wonder why I love both places so much.......so beautiful.

Thanks for that insightful tour, Lea. I think the North American sugar industry has a deal with most food manufacturers to add sugar to most things they sell. I'm surprised it has hit Amish products too. You'll find a lot of products you get in Europe are much sweeter here. However that was a great tour. Didn't know about that cloister sect you mentioned. My 1st video of yours. I quickly looked at your other videos and I will check out your riding through Vermont. As a Vermonter I hardly ever hear my state mentioned. I ride on the back of my husband's bike we love our rides through our lovely VT roads

Very interesting insight into the Amish culture! I should totally get off my bike more often. 😂 I did a similar ride a little bit west of there with a lot of Amish communities. If you like some wildlife in your riding as well it was called the 'elk country scenic drive.' A 130-mile loop centered around Benezette PA. A decade ago PA brought in a few Rocky Mountain elk and they've since grown to a herd of 10,000+ in the state forests and game lands. I went in early October and the bulls were screaming and bugling...which was worth it but it gets a little bit crowded and touristy during the rut.

I've admired the Amish for years and this was another great video showing their lifestyle and history. Thanks for the upload. The only problem is that now I really want to try a Bavarian donut 😄❤️

Lea, I really enjoyed your visit to the Amish community, it was most interesting, and your dedication in trying all those sweet treats on our behalf ha-ha. Mind you I don't know how those people in the cloisters survived on one small vegetarian meal a day, they must have been mighty thin or cheated a little, maybe. Don't think the Amish life is for me, but I can really understand it. Thank you.

I live in Gettysburg, PA (which I see you stopped in!) so I am very close to Lancaster. There are some really great places to visit and enjoy. I guess we are attracted because it’s a very different “way” of life. I have to say I generally think “quality” when I think of Amish made goods/products/services. We also have a pretty large Mennonite community too!

Your facts on the Amish are very true! Most people do not understand their beliefs. Thank you!
