That’s just the supporting evidence, the BIGGEST piece of evidence is the fact that her emotions are a mix of male and female, implying that she might be both, and be bigender. Those two supporting evidence are weak imo, but her emotions being mixed while her parents’ emotions are the only one gender, would imply that Riley is different from them gender wise in some way.

I support the lgbt movement but I totally dont care about any of the characters gender atm. Whats important is how the movie would deliver the new emotions and how they handle it. It means a lot to me that they succeed in that aspect since emotions are the KEY theme to the movie. Sure, loving someone else instead of the standard that society has set will bring a lot of emotions... but I want it to go a direction where it focuses on ALL teenagers... not just the minority of them. They can add a gay side character as Rikeys friend, I wouldnt mind... just keep riley more relatable to a large audience please. I love what inside out 1 did, dont disappoint us pixar

There are 2 main spellings for Riley: R-I-L-E-Y R-Y-L-E-E The latter doesn't get used as often as it should. I once played a two-part dating sim, where in the second game one love interest was a boy with the former spelling, while in the first game it was a girl with the latter spelling.

I've never watched the movie, but Riley probably has mixed gender emotions because she"s still young and finding herself, therefore she's openly dibbling and dabbling in both her masculine and feminine emotions without much thought. Whilst the adults such as mum and dad, has taken on a more sterotypical gender role emotion, where mum is more feminine, subtle and reserved, and dad is more masculine, forward and assertive. It also could just be that the older the generation the more fixed they are in their gender roles, whilst the younger the generation, the more fluid they tend to be with things. E.g its progressively becoming more accepting for boys to cry and show sadness, which has always been considered as a 'feminine' emotion. And girls are now becoming more independent and involved in male dominated things which can involve more 'masculine' emotions such as anger, whereas the older generation wouldnt deem an emotion like that to be ladylike. So Riley being in a generation thats more accepting, could also be a reason why she has mixed gender emotions

as a queer person can we literally stop putting LGBT into everything? Sometimes people just want to watch a movie and not worry about a main character being a minority. It’s becoming way too overdone and only made to appeal with the current agenda. this isn’t how we gain acceptance and respect, because people started hating us again once we decided to go so far to shove it in everyones lives.

I know, I know, the lgbtq is an interesting and chill community, But it might be getting a little too popular or getting out of hand. I'm actually worried because the lgbtq community will start to get a lot of hate if this keeps going. I'm also getting uncomfortable because *I think* people will stare at me weirdly because I'm straight since *almost everyone* I see in the internet is a queer.

As a queer person, this “evidence” is really pushing it. The idea of Riley possibly struggling with her gender identity due to the mixed emotions in her brain is actually a pretty fair idea. But to suggest that she might be queer because she likes hockey (as if her parents didn’t skate and play hockey with her since childhood) is actually wild. Also, even if she does identify as something else besides a girl in the second movie, that doesn’t necessarily make her gay too 😭

I can definitely see with the mixed gender emotions because every other head clearly has the emotions of what they identify with and were born with. Such as the parents and the one kid. But the hockey thing is a stretch 😂😂 the parents loved hockey so they taught her since she was like 3 I’d guess based on the core memory. And she still just really enjoyed it.

I fully agree, but also people keep acting like they’re calling her gay when they didn’t do at all, as well as completely ignoring the evidence of her emotions being multiple genders (which is the MAIN basis of the theory). Like using her liking hockey as a reason is stupid af, but people are just completely ignoring the other thing (and also using gay and non-binary interchangeably).

@@dino8232 Well to your point about parents complaining about “confusing the children,” they’ll say for literally any representation, so conceding to those kinds of complaints means no queer or trans people in kids media ever, which is extremely harmful for queer and trans kids (particularly those with these types of parents, because they’ll stop them ever learning about themselves and grow up feeling like something’s wrong with them). That said, obviously I completely agree that straight girls can like hockey; I think that was a really dumb thing for the video to mention.

When decades in Entertainment Media a woman was only wife and child factory and it was too bad, now a woman is always put in man boots and it's too bad. There's no middle ground, it's going from one extreme to the other extreme.
