President Obama came into the white house optimistic, but he did not realize that his mere existence was a challenge to the opposing side. I also think that it is weird that Obama is blamed for the lack of bipartisanship when it was the republicans that said they were against almost everything.

@@oldmandoinghighkicksonlyin1368 What's politics is as this documentary reveals is a history of elites owning a two-party system to sheepdog Americans into fighting each other rather than the elites that rob funds, social and political power from We the People. Theft at both domestic and global levels using militarism and financial extortion. Unite liberals, independents and leftists to replace u$a's elites with the socialistic models of public ownership of utilities, core businesses; worker ownership of large corporations, expelling private monies from politics. Make reparations to correct a history of theft of domestic communities and nations u$a has exploited. That's fulfilling the representative govt dreamed of / conceived of by the best thinkers of the day. Corporations are the new church ... and both serve elitism, which destroys everything it touches.

The fact that we get free documentaries on KZread by FRONTLINE PBS is truly a gift. 👏👏👏 By the way, may I also remind you the fact that our Native American population in our motherland, the Continent of America before the European Colonizers arrived, was around 15 millions, while the European population in their motherland, the Continent of Europe was around 25 millions. Today, Native American population is 15 million, while the European population, in the Continents of America + Europe, is a staggering TWO BILLION! A shocking sad truth. 😔 In my humble opinion, it's about time to decolonize the Colonized lands, and return it to rightful owners Native American people. Notorious global cardinal crimes the Christian West has committed, and benefited a great deals, such as Slavery & Colonialism had long been over, why on earth is notorious Colonization still lingering on, may I ask? 😔

Is there a part two for his second term? I've been watching since the attack in Israel. I started with Netanyahu now im working my way up and i want to see the entire story line. Itd be nice to hear who influenced who during all these times. I know theres more to the story but pbs has done great with their past stories. No biased. It's organized and easy to understand. I want to hear about the possible conspiracies diring all this as well. Very interesting relationship with obama and Netanyahu especially with the money sent for aid.

Since Biden, the 1st world power USA has definitely suffered politically. It is no longer perceived as such. Economically, the United States has acted only egomaniacally over the past 25 years and has in no way borne its international and global responsibility. Only Trump said it. CLinton has given up on Europe and only said that the USA would now devote itself to the Asian market. Only then will a nation lose its position as the 1st economic world power.

I was a teenager during Obama’s tenure. I remember hearing his ideas on healthcare and thinking “why are people booing this?” “Why are people hating this?”. Obama did make some major mistakes during his time, he should have gathered from the first meeting with Republicans that they were corrupted by partisanship and would simply oppose him out of greed rather than principal. He should have walked out of that meeting and made it about how he presented his plan, but they didn’t even want to listen to it to help the American public. He should have been tough on the banks after the bonus fiascos. I respect the man for trying to work with people, but unfortunately people did not want to work with him. And from his presidency, the Republican Party learned that the best thing for themselves (not the American people) was to stonewall everything, yell the loudest, and throw tantrums to get what they want. Hell, the ACA is still here today because most Americans can’t survive without it- and it’s gutted compared to its original scope! Remember when the Republicans said that no God-fearing American would stand by a socialist institution? When they have, and they love it. The Republican Party is not the party of conservative idealism, it’s the party of crony political and capitalist families that wish to rule for the sake of ruling rather than helping this country be the best it can be.

I had regular visits with BOH, before and during his candidacy. He warned me trouble and mayhem is coming but rest assured it will change, just be patient. Edwina Marie Hammons-Felton (Noonie) called me often and said “Is your Father still nice looking”; then she would laugh and then say we kept you from him because we wanted him for ourselves and everyone knows it but we weren’t sure if you knew because you don’t talk about him. I said I know he’s my father but I don’t like talking to you cackling hen, ass bitches about my family of origin. Noonie said she was going to call him and tell him how I’m acting, then she said I would call your real mother but we’re not speaking because some other people and I played a trick on you both, but you caught on to our schemes and scams. While on the phone with her, she walked in my house at 5404 Crysler Ave KCMO and hit me with a small wooden Louisville slugger bat and I hit her back and we fought until she got hit with my fist. Noonie called 911 while inside the house and then ran. Law enforcement was everywhere people couldn’t get in or out of the area without proper identification which was verified by authorities at the checkpoints. If you need more clarification look on microphish.

I often wonder about how the presidency may or may not have been a pivotal moment for him in his personal development. He must have known and worked with some of those congresspeople that went all in on him for years prior to his presidency, only for many of them to essentially turn on him in a very adversarial way, likely rationalizing that none of it was _"personal"_ when politics is *very personal* - especially when every jab and jeer is public, it is not your hobby, but rather your _career_ and the way you earn your money, maintain your elite status and support your family.

44:20 The gentleman stated that the freshmen republicans were moving on principle and not politics. Could someone explain how using the debt ceiling as a bargaining tool isnt politics? Maybe I am missing something. Someone that is really into/understands politics, please break it down.

My understanding is that the speaker of the house who had the republicans interests in mind had already bargained with Obama so with that in mind, we can rule out that the possibility that republicans wanted to bargain with Obama. At the beginning of the video the strategist had mentioned that the republicans had the single mission of opposing everything that the democrats and Obama wanted. With this in mind, it wasn’t about supporting their political issues but rather opposing the other sides issues.
