Some of the negative comments are just jealousy because I love my kids and I do everything I can for them. Why should rich people not spend their money on their children. When we die , they take nothing with us. Not saying we shouldn’t teach them responsibility but we should love our children as much as we can.

For my 10th birthday our house had mold growing in it so we went and lived with my grandparents for a week. My grandma bought me an American girl doll that year. My parents bought me a full dvd collection of the entire full house series that I was obsessed with.

It was a hotel a few blocks away from my house and me and 3 other of my friends shared two beds while my mom slept on the tiny couch, we had a cake that my mom and I had made myself and the goodie bags were just fuzzy socks, the fanciest thing we had there was the hotel’s breakfast buffet! 😂

I remember I was allowed 2 friends to sleep over! That was huge for me! I begged my stepmother not to drink and ruin my 11th b-day like she did the last 3! I had my friends come over early! We got all the family inclusive activities done and me and my friends holed up in the finished basement for the rest of the night! My brother guarded the door so she wouldn't come down! Did she drink, you ask! Yep! I'm in my 60's! She's in her early 70s! She's still drinking and is a mess! P.S. For those that are sitting on the moral high ground.. Rehab, programs, doctors, psychologist, al-anon, etc! We have tried, we have paid for and we came to terms with it! We all talk to her, only early before 2 pm If she wants to see any of us for a family function, no drinking! Haven't seen her in 18 years! Oh, shit! Sorry didn't mean to go off like that! I guess that's the way the rich do things! I feel sorry too! How is it every year you have to top last years! Her 21st? Hope I'm around (physically and mentally) to read about that!! I might be on my own journey by then!! LOL C'est la vie!

I feel so bad for these kids...I mean to each their own, but I somehow feel that our kids grow up much happier digging for worms in our garden and making necklaces out of daisies 🙈

I love it when people buy the same luxury for their kids as they do with themselves. I am from a middle class indian family, but my uncle was very rich. He had two mansions in his name, few cars for himself and his wife, had expensive dogs and horses, but he wouldn't give the same luxury to his kids. His kids went to a normal private school like the rest of us and drived around in cheap TATA cars contrast to the expensive ones he owned. One of his daughters was the same age as me so before I met her, I had a totally different image of her. I thought she wore designer clothes and went to posh school, but she turned out to be a normal 12 yo like me. I never understand parents who say 'My money is my money'
