Inside Mexico's 🇲🇽 Most Dangerous City (Tijuana)

Book Nana's Tijuana Walking Tour: msha.ke/nanaentijuana
Is Tijuana dangerous? Do you trust your mainstream media outlet? My goal is to travel to misunderstood countries and speak to locals to uncover the truth. Dude. She's a damn good tour guide. Not the typical, "And if you look over to your right you'll see..." She's just like, "This is what it is, this is how it is, this is our culture. Take it or leave it", and I love it. I'm booking her for my next trip in Diego. I was told to visit when I get a chance, and who better to give me a run down of my surroundings then her? Thx for featuring her and promoting her business!

One thing she said that I’ve heard before, is that the dangerous people tend to leave regular folks alone. They are dangerous in their circle, but don’t let it bleed out into the public. I think that’s why I never felt threatened in Tijuana.

I feel safer in Tijuana than I do in San Francisco CA. Also Tijuana is not the most dangerous city in Mexico that title goes to Reynosa, Tamaulipas and Ciudad Juarez Chihuahua. Tijuana is a beautiful city with some of the best restaurants in the country. If anything it's all the illegals from all over the world especially Central America that are making Tijuana a dangerous city especially Hondurans. You don't see people defecating in public spaces or open drug markets and people shooting up and smoking fentanyl.

My parents are both from Tijuana. They have a house there and are always saying they want to go back since everything is so expensive in California. But recently I've noticed that everything is more expensive in Tijuana, almost as much as it is in California, only rent is cheaper there. What's worse is that the dollar is worth less now. Before you could get 20-22 pesos for a dollar and the last time I went about 2 months ago, a dollar could only get you 16 pesos. I just don't think its worth it for my parents to move back to Tijuana, especially since the city has really gone downhill with so many immigrants from various countries trying to get to the United States through the Tijuana border.

No immigrants, from the immigrant.🤣 I left the U.S. 20 years ago. Tijuana is changing for the better. I love seeing all the new renovations and living here. But is cool that coconuts feel that way cus YES, they are the ones making things more expensive, so those parents and their "American" kids should not immigrate to Mexico.

Actually some great restaurants in T.J. by the mall down by the River. Even a great fresh seafood restaurants, that has been there for over 40 years. Some golf, sports book, etc. I had THE best Torta in my life there on Avenida Revolution. It was a Hot Turkey Torta with Guacamole and cream! Also on Avenida Revolution is a Liquor Store that is THE BEST in all of Mexico. Last time there they even had like 30 different brands of Mescal, and same for Tequilas. They have several hundred different hard liquor brands there, nothing like it, I have even seen in USA! I miss the Jai A Alai from years ago too.

Ok hopefully my input helps someone, well you can get medicine in Mexico and it’s a lot cheaper than the USA , although you get a doctors note to get prescribed medicine, some medicines are illegal to cross even with the doctors note . The USA has a list of medicines you can cross so it’s good to educate yourself or spend and entire day at the border reasoning or getting bullied by the cops . So best to be honest or do the wrong thing.

I'm an Anglo American lived in Tijuana for 45 years and "few MEXICANS are crossing the border illegally" today, its south of Mexico, its economic always has been and thousand of Mexican citizen have border crossing cards can cross the border anytime they want, so once they cross, why don't they just stay? becouse they don't want to, lots of green card holder also live in Mexico. in Mexico's case migration is in reverse and if so bad, why are Americans invading Mexico for a better economic life? and all drugs don't come from Mexico, there 100s of illegal drug labs in the U.S. (look it up) don't see a bunch of gangbangers, I feel safe, no one bothers me, its not the most dangerous city, you forgot the last part of the lie (in the world) safer then lots of big cities in the U.S. I have never seen a cartel war not even a shooting, not to say it don't happen, ITS U.S. HYPE , there's also U.S. fake $$$ click videos to exaggerate the cartels, the Cartel don't run nor control Mexico, Another U.S. fairytale, few American are murdered in Mexico and must believed involved in criminals activities and drugs, DONT GET INVOVLED IN THAT LIFE, the vest majority of Mexicans are not trying to live in the U.S. the U.S. also slanders migrants, I see the military all the time, its more sight, I have never seen a firefight, the police don't intermediate me at all, when I do get stop rarely, I usually talk my way out of a ticket, American get scared when they get stop and play into some of the cops hands becouse they think there going to jail becouse they need to go to the police station, just go and pay the ticket and you will be on your way, you cant get pain pills, unless you have a Mexican doctors prescriptions, those days are gone (Inspectors) I will leave Mexico in a pine box, I'm not going anywhere, lots of American live in Mexico (ILLEGALLY) its not that hard immigrate to Mexico if Mexico started massive deportation, YOU ONLY THINK THE U.S. HAS HOMELESS, THANK GOD FOR MEXICO the biggest embarrassment for me is how Americans act in Mexico, there not poisonings drinks, American are more likely to use drugs and the Mexicans know that funny broke your window the U.S. will do a lot more then just brake your window, the U.S. is crazy

Lets not kid ourselves here, It may not be a war zone but it's far from a safe community. I've traveled there a few times in the past and the police are not honest. They will take all your money

TJ is not dangerous!if You want attention then this is not the place to come to get attention. If You come and want to have good time do Your own things this is the place. So it's just having common sense not going with people You don't know. Now there's more US citizens coming to live here the US government just says TJ is dangerous so it's citizen's don't come and waste their money here that all it's about money.

i have a girlfriend in tijuana, they get the water shut off randomly for days at a time, getting diarrhea is a frequent occurrence. i got diarreah for two weeks straight... the electricity shuts off randomly. they work 6 days a week 12 hours a day and only make 80 dollars a week. they hate americans, they call us POCHOS. a lot of young women dream of meeting a cute american who will save them and take them to "el otro lado" the other side. thats how i got my gf she was a dental assistant that went to my medical records to text me lol she is 18 and im 30!!! .. but beware these girls are on survival mode, my gf got robbed, and pistol whipped. her brother got robber, her friend got carjacked at gunpoint, all on broad daylight within the same month!. and the girls when you are gone they need protection from another man kidnappings are VERY COMMON! so they will be out with other men for free meals(dates) or for safety. also they will use you for your apartment if you get one in a nice area so they can take showers when their water gets shut off. i really love tijuana!

Strange I've been in TJ 20 years and have never had any problems. It's like they say here. It all depends on who, where you hang out with or surround yourself with. I was born and raised in San Diego and I had it worse there, my car was broken into 3 times, and my car was robbed. I was beaten by cops, corrupt cops. A drug addict tried to kill me. I go to San Diego and see tons of homeless, drug addicts smoking and shooting up drugs, people begging for money, people fighting with store clerks/employees. I've seen stores being robbed. My cousin from Michoacan got beaten up by a carjacker trying to hotwire his rented car. Druggies jumped my sister's fence into her yard to inject themselves. Her neighbor stabbed a friend of his, and down the street from her a guy shot and killed some guy in. I saw one girl injecting her neck out in the open. I've seen people taking a dump out in the open. My friend's sister in San Diego was taken out of her home for trafficking then was given heroin to keep her from escaping until she escaped, now she is an addict. I saw a girl on the 5 freeway by Palm outside of her tent taking a bucket bath... and tents right up against homes/apartments and abandoned graffitied homes. I could go on and on. So Mexico has its problems but let's not pretend the U.S is any better. It is worse in some cases, we don't have mass shootings like in the U.S. yet So yeah, once every 3 of 4 months the water is shut off but I have a backup water system and even if I did not I much rather live in Mexico than the U.S. I DO love Tijuana. We have back-up water supplies and solar panels you know...
