    I like how the kid blamed Jerry at the end for his father's business closing down. It's not his fault for the false advertising, if you father didn't lie about the contents then we wouldn't be in this mess in the first place.

    @godmode9 You can still get fat from eating too much fatty foods; it's just "easier" for your body to get fat from sugar because your body expends less energy metabolizing sugar than it does fats and proteins.

  • @ValseInstrumentalist

    @ValseInstrumentalist

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@jaredjones1752 Disagree. The process by which sugar is converted into fat is called de novo lipogenesis. It's actually one of the body's last resorts because it's a very expensive process compared to storing lipids directly. Fat tends to get stored just as soon as your body is over its "allotment" of calories for a day, virtially unchanged. But you would need an inordinately high amount of sugar to have it be converted to fat and stored. Sugar can lead to weight gain because, with its moderately high caloric density, it can cause one to get too many calories in a day. But it's virtually never stored itself, it's always converted to water and carbon dioxide and breathed out. Dietary fat is usually always the macro that gets stored when people gain weight, unless someone is in ketosis.

    I like the actor who played Lloyd Braun, Peter Keleghan, in this episode. He's a Canadian actor who I remember best as Ranger Gord from "The Red Green Show", which I believe is still on some PBS stations, or find it on KZread. Anyway, they wanted to use the Lloyd Braun character in a future episode, but they had to hire a different actor because Keleghan couldn't get a work visa in time for the shooting of the episode they were to use the character in again.

    Interesting! Didn't know why they didn't bring back the original actor. The replacement actor probably played a better mentally-unstable character anyway.

    Garry Mullins If you want mentally unstable, Peter Keleghan's character from "The Red Green Show", Ranger Gord, definitely fits the description. The gag is that he's been stuck in the same fire watch tower for maybe 15 or 16 years without a paycheck. He easily loses track of time as a result, and he does some odd things as well. Some old episodes of the show are on KZread if you're interested.

    Yeah but Seinfeld really likes continuity. They did a re-shoot of John Randolph's scenes as Frank Costanza with Jerry Stiller, and dubbed Wayne Knight's voice for Newman over the Newman suicide attempt over Larry David's voice. So for Seinfeld, I think it was really important to not overlap actors and use the same actors for the same character.

    I don't see why they would not have used Phil Morris as Jackie Chiles. The character is totally different. There is an episode where Jerry walks out of movie with an African American friend and they rave about the action. Then in the "Puerto Rico Day" episode the same actor shows as "Maroon Golf".

    You're right. There's a ton of actors on Seinfeld who played one role in one episode, then returned to play another. Elaine's boyfriend Jake Jarmel (The Opposite) was a cop in the California episode, George's girlfriend in "The Doodle" was a bra executive in an earlier episode, "The Sniffing Accountant". There's so many more examples.
