Thanks, brilliant video. I just bought the Osprey Tempest 30 and was trying to figure it out and this one shares many features. I had no idea you could adjust the back length and I finally know now how to attach my trekking poles. Very clear and informative.

Great review! I tried both XS/S and S/M in store. I did not realize the torso length is adjustable. I have around 16" torso length so I am kind of in between sizes - the small one seems too small and the big one seems a big too big. Which one should I go for?

Hi Michelle, the Tempsest is now only available in a WS/M with an adjustable back system, which will fit you just fine.

I love this review and am sold on this bag! Have you got a new Tempest 16L at all? I’m very interested in how that one loads out and can’t see any videos on it at all :)

Hi I'm looking for a daypack like the osprey tempest 20 but front loading, opening like a suitcase with outside bottle holders. Do you know of any bag like this? max 30 litres, thank you

The closest pack we stock which features front access, bottle pockets and is around 30 litres is the Deuter Trail Pro 30. It doesn't open fully like a suitcase, but it does open quite a large chunk. I'm stuck between osprey tempest 20 and 16, the 16 is a toploader, it doesn't have as many good reviews as the 20. Is the comfort less good with the 16?

Both are just as comfortable as the other, the only difference is the one is a clamshell opening and the other is top loading. There are benefits to both (top loading is more weather resistant, clamshell is quicker to access), but personally for a pack of this size I prefer a clamshell opening. Kind regards, Harry.

Thank you for this very useful video. Please, what is the purpose of the zip inside the scratch pocket (back of the bag)? For your information, the chest straps don't move "very easily", they are very very hard on my bag. Thank you.

The zip on the inside of the pack is there to allow the manufacturers to fit the back panel and is not intended to be used as storage. Those Osprey sternum straps are indeed very hard to slide up and down, but they do ease up with use. A top tip is to rub a bit of candle wax on the fabric. Thanks for watching. Paul.

would it feel very wrong for women to go for Talon series? I ordered Talon from a webshop where it came up as a female option (they need to fix that) but now that I am looking at their Tempest options I kinda prefer the Talon one (color-wise). Would be thankful to know your expert idea :)

Depends on your back length. The Tempest is generally more suitable for women as the back length is shorter. The fit range of the Tempest 30, for example, is listed under 'sizing information' on this page: www.trekitt.co.uk/rucksacks/technical-packs/osprey-womens-tempest-30-violac-purple__41304

how is this pack supposed to fit? are the hip straps supposed to go over the hip bone or above it? thanks

For optimum comfort and support while walking, the hipbelt should be placed on the hip bone. You can wear it above the hips if you're using the pack for running or biking; just make sure to shorten the back length as well. Kind regards, Harry.

If you were wanting to use this bag for a lightweight overnight trip, are there straps that would allow you to attach a small tent to the outside of the pack? cheers?

If you removed the poles from your tent, you may be able to get the flysheet/inner stuffed into one of the side bottle pockets and the poles in the other, but other than that there aren't any external straps on the 20. Harry

Would the little pocket you said you'd use for a gps system, take a Salomon soft flask? Cheers

I can't say for sure as we don't stock it but I would have thought it'd fit. It's a reasonably large pocket on the latest models.

You'd better check that with Osprey as that is what they name the pack.
