Truly brilliant film. Captures the 'time and place' of the Greenwich Village of the early 60s perfectly. A great film in every way. 👍👍👍
I’m so glad I went into this blind because I was looking up John Goodman movies on RT and saw this was highly reviewed, slowly learning about what happened to his partner through natural conversations was so much more impactful than the trailer blowing that load in the first 20 seconds. First watched it about 2 years ago and it’s now my favorite movie of all time.

Exactly my thoughts. The trailer is wonderful, but it ruins the emotional impact that slowly finding out about his partner had in the movie. It‘s a surprisingly subtle masterpiece, one of the Coen‘s best works.
Even this trailer was a god damn masterpiece
I watched this film after a bad breakup when I was living in a bedbug ridden low income apartment. It didn't necessarily make me feel better, but it made me feel better. Everyone's struggling.
Llewyn Davis is based on Dave Van Ronk. Most of the songs in Inside Llewyn Davis were actually sung by Dave Van Ronk.

what a fantastic trailer.
For some reason, this film fell under my radar. I haven't seen it yet. I think I'm about to. Granted, I'm biased towards Cohen brothers' films, but, regardless, I still want to say, this is a quality trailer. It is well edited to entice me into the film, and yet not tell me too much so that it spoils things.

Adam Driver partly got cast in this because of Oscar Isaac. It was down to him and one other guy, and Oscar Isaac chose him because he had a more interesting face 😂 it still hurts me that they didn't get more time together in Star Wars. They have such great chemistry

Well, technically this is the Dave Van Ronk story had Dave been a failure - a sort of alternate timeline, hence the Schrodinger’s Cat 🐈 paradox.

@Del It's a seven year old movie - I think the moratorium on spoilers is over. Besides, it doesn't exactly spoil much more than the trailer itself does.

@@Kate1Chopin may seem like an odd question but do you think the movie is depressing? Because everyone has been telling me how depressing it is and I was scared to watch it, but now I have seen it 3 times in 4 months and I actually think it's kind of motivating and not depressing at all...
@ryangimeson3930

@@bossnass9264 it's very perspective based. If you see this as a story about a guy trying to make a name for himself, then this film is gonna depress you. However, if you see it as a story about acceptance and maturing as an individual, this could be seen as uplifting. Llewyn can't change his circumstance, but he does change his outlook on life, and that's hopeful.
