Love your videos. I’m from the UK but I’m keen on moving to the States as the weather here in the UK is just depressing and the Government are squeezing every last penny they can from us through tax. I earn a good amount (£100,000+) a year, so hoping I can move to the States in the future. Texas is looking very appealing. Question, why are the homes so big yet so reasonably priced? There has to be a catch surely. I understand property tax can be high but surely there has to be other negatives? Also homes in the UK are built by brick and tend to be more robust but I couldn’t care less if the house is made of wood, as long as it lasts my lifetime, I don’t mind. (I’m in my mid 20’s for reference).

It depends on the location/type of property, the same property can easily be 50-100k more in different communities but there is super nice areas where you can spend over a million on a tear down to be in a neighborhood. Property taxes in Texas can suck but in a lot of the master plan communities it’s the HOA/POA fees and MUD taxes that get a lot of people.

They remove the plants and lay the concrete driveway down before you close on the house

You can put one in later,but most master plan communities will have one as part of the HOA fees

You'll need to check HOA and soil. The Black Gumbo soil expands and contracts a lot and concrete pool can pop out of the ground.
