INSIDE HALE END | 'It's in the club's blood' | Six-part documentary | Episode 1
Спорт
If you've ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at our world-famous academy, then Inside Hale End will offer unprecedented insight into the quest to develop future first-team stars.
Our new six-part documentary series - presented by adidas x Arsenal - follows the paths of our under-15 and under-16 squads last season, taking an in-depth glimpse into their lives and what it means to be an aspiring footballer.
For the first time, cameras were allowed on-site to follow academy manager Per Mertesacker, under-15s coach Adam Pilling and the under-16s' Adam Birchall as they help the next generation plot a course from Hale End to London Colney, thanks to their first professional contract.
The first three episodes are now available on Arsenal.com for our Members to watch, with the following three episodes will be released on Tuesday, September 12.
Presented by adidas x Arsenal

Per Mertesacker is an absolute legend and one of the most underrated defenders in my lifetime. A world class player.

@@kartikt.s813 I’m not even an Arsenal fan, mate, and I don’t think it’s in doubt. One of the best readers of a game I’ve ever seen. Key part of Germanys team for years, over 100 caps. Didn’t play a game for a year and pocketed Diego Costa in an FA Cup final on his return. Depends your categorisation of world class I suppose but I thought he was an incredible defender.

@@ArthurSymington1 He wasn´t really that great. And although, he had some decent periods, he was often heavily criticised and rightly so. Way too clumsy, but a great leader and role model - Fr, very far from being world class though...

@@brendanroe8604 It was criticised because it was seen as a panic buy after we were humiliated at Man Utd. Not because of the quality of the players. We bought Mikel, Per Park Chu Young, Andre Santos and loaned Benayoun all within 48 hours before the transfer market closed.

I mean most of them will still make it professionally in any of the 4 leagues. It might not be what they aspired. But they still can live and play football as a job.
This was great 👍 I actually enjoyed this 1 episode more than the Amazon series. Years back my nephew played for Fulham . He was about 12 at the time and when they played at Arsenal I went and watched......and yes I still cheered 4 arsenal 😂 but it was a great experience being at that ground.
i support my club since i was 11 now i'm 27 yr i still love the club & enjoy the football in arsenal , i hope we wi'll be on the top for next yrs , (LOVE U arsenal From Ethiopia ).
Simply marvellous...great to see the development and interests of players is in good hands at this glorious club. Total class Arsenal. Always have been, always will be ♥

Wenger singlehandedly built us a stadium and world-class training facilities, oversaw our balance both financially and carpet-wise for almost a decade, had the foresight for the future thus signing our most important players (Arteta and Per) to maintain and carry us forward. Legend of The Arsenal.

Sorry for bringing Arteta into this but when the u15's coach at the end talked about not just winning but winning playing in the right way I felt that was Mikel's philiosophy taking and effect deep down into the roots of the club which is good.

No it is not this is La Masia system which invented back when Cruyff in charge of Barcelona, then the system followed by Ajax after and it has became staple for them. Its not a stranger Mikel adopted this system since he's coming from La Masia.

Agreed . I hope one day the ppl begins the scenes wake the hell up and start broadcasting EVERYTHING. From the youth right up to the first team. In the 21st century there is literally no need anymore for TV fixtures to be in the hands of Sky , BT etc; the Premier league clubs don't need them. It would maximise profits, and give access to fans all across the country and the world who can't go to the Emirates.

I lived close to Hale end since primary school. They have to sort out the parking there. The pavement is massive for very little foot traffic. They have to increase parking for cars to help visitors out not make it harder with restrictions.
