😍excellent interview why don't the young men come together and organize themselves talk with the official that is over the serrakunda MARKET get some professional identification tags to say hey I'm self-employed small business man or women so they are protected from the harrasment . Also the official will have registration of who is officially in the market place to keep the confusion down another suggestion is with official registration you can also organize and approach larger business man to give back in the way of knowledge .. teaching classes on the level of their understanding to grow and take there business to the next level where they can afford a booth or container store in or near by the market

I came across this video. As Gambian 🇬🇲 myself; my heart is bleeding for Gambian youths. Something needs to be done by the government to come up with a great strategy to help the youth. Creating jobs or on-the-job training. This should be one of the focus to help the youth because they are the future of tomorrow. Schools, jobs, and healthcare should a priority. With that said, I do respect the ones that are working hard to make ends meet instead of stealing just to survive. This is a great content. Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed watching.

I would call it a resale market and not black market. The trading authority can set standards for resale markets: vendor licensing, tracing, and other elements that increase consumer confidence and protect the traders from rogue sellers.
Excellent interview. Thank you for showing the various sides of The Gambia. True Gambian life.

You should visit Aggrey street, Kariakoo Dar Es Salaam Tanzania 🇹🇿 Same experience with the police, people trading from mobiles to TVs and Cars. This is the life of youth in Africa
Writing from India. I really enjoyed this video. It reminds me the days I used to hustle in this same place to make a living like these fellow boys. We all have to do some petty hustles before our calling of life happens.
This is so interesting bro buh we have to help the youths for real mein cuz this is showing that Gambians are really ready to work mein
As a Senegambian living abroad it's makes me proud to see how hard working and smart my people are

God bless all the hustlers out there. I know what it means to wake up in the morning and come to this black market.

Great material. Like most policies that The government has got wrong this is a typical scenario. In order to mitigate the wrongful arrest of these young economic movers and shakers the government should setup a local "authority to sell" office within this jurisdiction where individuals who want to "cash out" any belongings can obtain a "permit to sell" on producing a proof of identity document. this "permit to sell" would be handed to the 'black market trader' by the person trading the item. The black market trader would have to keep this as 'evidence of lawful purchase'. This would create a temporary solution to the wrongful arrest and extortion of these young self driven men/women. Thumbs up for the content in this video.
The content we need🙌🏾 keep pushing bro!

This is amazing work! I would have loved to hear from anti-crime unit’s perspective and Ministry of Trade. Regardless, I know firsthand that arrests made by the anti crime unit are mostly unjust and arbitrary.
I'm in America and this video made me angry, because I know with the right political leadership and the brothers who have been to techical schools and understands science of computers and cellphones and the like can become great innovators and creators of new ideas in the world of technology. With the right help these same guys in the market place can create a high tech corporation just as other nationalities create in there countries. This can be done right there in the Gambia. Just takes the right leadership who cares and loves the people.

You need a new President a young person who really cares about the people. Instead you vote same in after knowing he does nothing for the young and future of Gambia. We all know of the corruption and it will never stop as long as there's poverty. I feel for the genuine people of Gambia the whole situation is getting worse and now with the situation of Ukraine will only get worse.

interesting my brother

Hello brother is very easy to deal with this matter. Anyone come to sell something to you tell him or her that am going to take a of you and your ID in case of something happen I can if you just like here US if that happened they will have less problems. Because people also need there things if they lose they will go to police ❤but you are the best you did nice job
