Inside Dubai's major cleanup operation after city left underwater by freak rainfall
THE destructive deluge that engulfed Dubai on Tuesday could end up costing the glitzy city $1billion to clean up after the "apocalyptic" floods.
The torrential downpours left an airport submerged underwater, roads at a standstill and homes and businesses filled up with water as the cost of the damages begin to ramp up.
For Dubai, a years worth of rain fell in just 24-hours leaving the city woefully unprepared in infrastructure and flood prevention systems.
With the water only just beginning to clear up, Dubai is finally getting on the move again.
Billionaire businesses are desperate to reopen and recoup their losses from almost 100-hours worth of disruption but the clean up is going to continue to take its toll for a while longer, according to experts.

This has nothing to do with that, it's all about the unpredictibility of the weather today, it rained in one day the amount expected to one year, not surprised that sewage system in a desert country can collapse, imagine the collapse if you start having heat waves of 35C in Alaska during summer.
Moral of this story dont mess with nature doh .

May Allah bless UAE with another blessing of rain for one month ameen
What’s the problem with the drainage system, water should have receded after rains for such an advanced city ? 🤔

there is no rainwater drainage since the region doesnt get much rain so its not practical, but this maybe a wake up call
That's the result of messing with the clouds! Is that enough of rain now? Nature's vengeance...

CLOUD SEEDING
Lord of mercy😮
Hope the city recovers fast. We in India know how difficult it is when heavy rains flood large areas
Hopefully there are no casualties, my condolences..
Best wishes best wishes to all inhabitants of Dubai. I think that this mess is artificial
Get out from Dubai before too late

I have never understood the interest that people have to go there.
World class buildings with no sewage system.
Seed the clouds they said, it'll be fine they said 🤦♂️
I was just scared of the lightnings and thunder....Thank God No Casualties occured...Those tall tall buildings and that Wire thread type lightining....goosebumps while watching those videos
Last warning signal for Emirates by nature.
The Indian guy riding his kayak was stylishly enjoying it bringing back his memories back in India riding those on the river.

Very true, mostly from third world countries paying them 200dollars a month living in squallers. Pay back time for these full of greedy people. In the UAE, if you look asian Indian South East Asian, you are a not human just a slave. Like in the days of Pharaoh. Its freedom time for their slaves

These insurance companies must just pay up as they promised their clients
Some great comments from people that can tell what’s the problem after a disaster happens. The best sewer system in the world would not have prevented a flood when confronted with what happened in Dubai.

Might of dampened the impact though, might not of been as bad if cloud seeding didn't also happen 😂
When you spray salt in the clouds and think it's okay
