Landing gear is the 3rd overall expense in an AIRLINES operating cost. Although labour intensive to assemble its single initial cost is raw material most components have to be milled from a single billet.. unlike engines , the gear is not the weakest part.. that falls on the tyres and behind fuel and labour tires are your third daily expense. An average tire assembly can cost about 7,800 per tire.
