Inside Biathlon | Salomon TV

Спорт

Combining two totally different sports, shooting and cross-country skiing, creates a mixture of extreme focus and unbearable pain. Add to the mix close to 100,000 people shouting loudly behind your back and you know we can only be talking about one sport - biathlon. In this episode of Salomon TV, Salomon biathletes walk us through some of their training principles and go into details on how they deal with pressure.

This has always been my favorite winter sport to watch. This video was a great insight to a “behind the scenes” view 👍 #SagaBingeWatchingSalomonTV

It'd be a lot cooler and more practical if athletes used NATO infantry rifle calibers instead of 22LR.

@@penerparker76 Maybe if your intent is to put holes in paper in the fastest time. If your goal is to simulate the demands of a winter warfare unit, real rifle calibers can be more fun and more indicative of how you'd perform if you had to ski under full combat load.

@@Schlabbeflicker The intent is to test marksmanship, you can do that just fine with .22LR at 50 meters. If you started to implement centerfire rifle calibers you'd need a much larger range and that's not very feasible. Not to mention spectators would then need to wear hearing protection. If the goal is to reduce participation in this sport, reduce spectators, and to reduce the venues where you can actually shoot, then sure, go with standard rifles.
