Last year, over 250 football coaches in Texas made over $100K as the Head Coach. And if you are the head coach in Texas, you do not have to teach any classes.

In NC the head coaches at high schools aren't teachers, theres 4 high schools in my county and all 4 hire exclusive head coaches

@@andrewp5732 An elevated testosterone level isn't the cause of hair loss. Hair loss results when certain hair follicles on the scalp are highly sensitive to another hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). As a result of this extreme sensitivity, hair follicles shrink and eventually disappear.

Ryan Dennler yes, but DHT is a bi product of testosterone, if there are high T level in a person there is a better chance that they will also have high DHT levels as a result.

As the mother of 3 boys, 1 graduated Martin, 1 current and one coming next year. I wouldn't have them in any other school. It has been wonderful. True dedication to a purpose is so rare these days.

I love when the true essence of football shines through...hard work, trust, sacrifice and love. What I hate (as a parent) is the politics when the coach doesn't keep groups of parents outta his face vying for their kid to play when their kids further down the depth chart than mommy and daddy want him to be.

Man I already miss my football career. I'm a senior at a high school on Long Island and I just finished my last football season this year as a star 6 foot 5 wide receiver and rotational defensive end and outside linebacker. But im not gonna play in college. I can tell you that this sport has something really special about it, and those who don't play football don't know what special thing im talking about. You just form an indescribable bond with everyone on the team, considering you spend more hours at school/practice with your teammates/coaches every day then you do with your own family at home. Id give anything to go back and play one more game of high school football. And most people who got the opportunity to play high school football and no longer play it would also say the same thing, that they'd do anything to play one more game. Don't ever take anything for granted, no matter how glorious or how shitty it is, because nothing last forever.

Mr Tom Great comment brother.I can tell you played the game everything you said is so true.I had it made I had D1 schools wanting me Bama, LSU,Miss St, Ole Miss and Miami.and few others.I had decided to go with Miami to be closer to my family.Senior year was looking good for me 4 games in I had already 6 TD 522 yards on the ground and 280 yards in the air.We beat a rival team that was #3 in the state I got the winning TD life was perfect.One of the Miami coaches was there to watch me play.I remember after the game my mama and Uncle was saying come on lets go get a steak but no I wanted to go hang my team mates you know how it is you want to be with your brothers.I had girl I was gonna met up with just that feeling I still remember.Got a call that one of the guys at our school was having a party.We was like yeah lets go.On the way there we stop at a store where we could buy beer in bad part of town.My 2 brothers from the team go in to get the beer I get out to take a piss bathroom outside around the corner as Iam gonna around the corner a guy is running and next thing I know I heard shots I try to run back to the car guy shoots me in the back thinking I was the other guy I had a white shirt he had one on also.Hit my spine.It was over man I could not walk for awhile.What hurt most of all was not losing my dreams of playing collage ball,but letting my team down we was gonna take to state that year.The next 3 games we lost to easy schools I was laid up in hospital.They did not lose cause I was out it takes a team win.They just lost the will to win.I still think about it to this day what if we would have not stopped at that store or what if I would have just gone with my mama and uncle to eat a steak meet up with my brothers later.I never got in trouble before that I had ok grades good enough to get to Miami.You know I missed so much school I never graduated high school I gave up.I been in and out of jail.Its hard for me to type my hands go numb from nerve damage I had got from getting shot in the back.I just now getting my life together.Sorry I just wanted to share my story.Sorry for my bad typing I ever really told starngers this story of my life.Your so right don't take nothing for granted cause nothing last forever my life that night went from being the best day of my life to the worst.Take care man!

I've no idea why anybody would dislike this video. Surely anyone has to admire the commitment and dedication that this man puts into his team. It's not about how many turn into professional football, it's about the character and worth ethic these kids get installed into them. Many of them with little or no role models in their own families to follow. All of these kids will benefit from their time with these coaches and become better men as a result. I'm totally inspired by this kind of dedication and selflessness that is all too missing these days.

I think this coach shows great character and sees the importance of his job in molding the character of young men is more important than winning or losing, along with the fact he doesn't neglect his family. this really showed aspects of coaching that we don't realize

4 years late but I was in a journalist class at the same high school bob wager coaches at (Martin high school) and I was asked to do a report on why some high school coaches don’t want to go to college and coach. When I approached bob wager he said “ I want to be closer to the players” And talent wise he said “I Could either be an assistant coach at a big college or be a head coach and a small school”

My high school won the football state championship last year, and the coaches were not working probably even half as much. For my coaches, schoolday started around 8:20ish, so they were all there by 7-7:30. NO MORNING WORKOUTS EVER. Then during the school day they each taught only 1-3 classes. The ones that had degrees in like physical education taught ONE weight lifting class and just chilled/did admin stuff the other hours of the schoolday, while the ones with degrees in subjects like math or history taught 2-3 classes. After school ended around 3:30, there would be a 1 hour period for them to relax/for players to warm up, and then practice from around 4:30 to anywhere from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. On Saturdays, just some morning running and drills, and Sundays off. Glad I didn't go to school in Texas.

Bro I wish football wasn’t so serious. It’s fun sometimes, but the amount of pain I go through outweighs the pleasure. It’s supposed to be a game! I’m already good at school, sometimes I think what my grades would be like if I didn’t play. I’d have all A’s. Colleges don’t give a crap if I played high school ball, all they want is grades.

Excuse my French, but I FUCKING Love this Video, the message it gives is so powerful, and the coaches who work out with the player, run with the player, those two stand out to me too, because people have no problem following some one, who does what they tell you to do with you, and him being more worried about the future his players will have, over how many games they win under him.

My 6A high school in Texas played at AT&T Stadium for the state championship game last year, and just WOW I love Texas hs football, that had to be one of the best memories I’ve ever had

got his start in good ol GTOWN!!!!!! He's the same here as he was when i played for him. He's amazing and these kids just dont realize what they have as a coach sitting in front of them. He showed us how to be great EVERYDAY an wasn't afraid to lead by example. A fearless competitor and role model.

So jealous of any high school kid able to play HS football in Texas. Played my HS ball in Canada and the hype and passion was never as high as this. Espescially winning the provincial championship in 2013... all my school cares about is hockey :(

Im sorry i think this is ridiculous. only seeing your kids for 5 min a day so you can spend all your time coaching football. this doesn't seem selfless to me, i believe this is the opposite. When your kids are all grown up, im sure they wont look back at that time and say, "oh well, at least my dad was a good coach and this IS Texas"

If I had small kids and a hot wife no way I would waste that much of my day away from them. Clearly the wife is fine with it since she appears very supportive. I also notice he has a pool and a nice home so he must make good money.

Awesome video. My High School has a great program. They have won 7 State Championships, I believe. The program is run like a college program. Every minute is accounted for and scheduled out. High School football is bigtime in Texas and a good program is beautiful to see ran and the whole town has a lifetime pride for the team.

Gotta love texas football. My son plays in texas, friday night lights nothing like it here in texas. Would love to have a coach like this apart of my sons football team. Only thing i would say is he definitly needs to make more time for his kids, they are only small once

I moved from lake travis (Austin, Texas) to Colorado in the 7th grade, I'm now a junior in high school. Football in Texas is so much more serious then in Colorado, in Colorado football is so soft compared to Texas ball. I've started on varsity for two years now and my team is 2nd best team in Colorado and we would get worked by any Texas team who is above a .500 record.

As a o lineman football player I can say from the time I leave the house in the season to the time I get home it’s like a 60 hour job. 5:30 am O line meeting 7-8:45 weights 9:00-2:30 class, 3-5:30 practice that’s a typical Monday. The only day we are not doing something is Sunday

Still love small high school football more than anything. This is great and all, but the bond you build with those 20-30 guys from a small school is beyond anything else.

listen guys it isn't unfair, I'm only 13 and and play 8th grade football, but even then the middle school coaches love it, it's a mother teaching proffesion, and the kids arnt getting nothing, they are developing into men that work together and persevere through the rest of life, so what if you don't play college football, it shapes you into a man

As long as these kids keep academics first like I did it’s really a great experience and it teaches you a lot about yourself. It kept me focused and grounded I don’t think I would’ve done as good academically without football. I played my entire life from 5 my son won’t be allowed to play until hs but I played wr so I don’t have to worry about cte. I am playing basketball in college and want to major in computer science

I remember the 3 a day practices in the summer B4 school started. What I realize now was we were doing more than pra Tice, we were bonding as players and as friends.

In the U.K. Coaches don't even prepare lessons and just improvise when you get there😂😂

The stadiums are the size of a small college. Always pass one in San Antonio when I fly down and it amazes me every time

as an update Bob Wager made it to Nebraska as a tight ends coach but resigned after a DUI arrest. Really hope he turns it around and finds it back on the field. he seems like a good guy

Honestly playing high school football in Texas isn’t worth it. With practices until 6 pm most days of the year and on holidays, it’s hard for players to have enough time for school and so fewer players have solid grades

As a former high school football coach in Oklahoma, I can totally relate to this coach. 6 am to 1 am during the season, my girls watched Disney movies in the team room when I cut film. That was my time with my daughters. Never a day off. The difference... Oklahoma doesn't make it worth the money. It's about .30c/hour. $30,000 in Oklahoma vs $70,000 in Texas.

BTW: Coach Wager is one of the highest paid coaches in the Dallas area at $100,000/year. He's taken his team to the Playoffs every season.

Sounds like the need of some pretty strong coffee.

Working 16 hours a day as football coach must be kind of fun for Wager, as long as he enjoys working with kids and studying game film. I feel the same way about all other Texas prep football coaches. New England Patriots coach Bill Bellichick, who spends AT LEAST 16 hours a day going through drills and watching film when the Patriots don't have a game, must be envious.

What a great documentary.

I went out for the team freshmen year the coach dint like it cause I was deaf!

Wow! High School sports in the UK have none of the money nor coaching staff that they have in the States/Texas. I am glad I stumbled across this video it was fascinating to watch. I like to see a longer documentary if somebody would kindly recommend one.
