Sooo amazing to see this!! I wish I could see the one done for padmaavat or bajirao or as a matter of fact any SLB movie...that would have been just fascinating. But still this was interesting to see.

Reallusion has an awesome suite of tools for character animation, storyboarding and previz...including Iclone (shown in video) and Character Creator with its Headshot plugin.Its nice to see someoe using it for storyboarding...great stuff..would like to see a complete workflow video from start to finish in the future

Wow this is informative! I have a question does every film needs to go through this story board process because some of them are very emotion driven films? Or is this only for the big event films? Say a film like Dangal, did it undergo the same process? Thanks for the video anyway 🙂

Neelima K Generally this is more heavily used for the big budget films than small drama films. Even so, there may be some ambitious sequences in those films that require advance storyboarding and planning. Action heavy films (Ra. One, Krrish) benefit the most from this process since it helps plan and visualize each shot in advance which in turn means less confusion on the day of the shoot.

Movies which require a big budget and has lots of action and sf scenes use this certainly. It's almost necessary if you want to get your movie funded because producers want to see how it will look like. Have you seen the Matrix? No producer wanted to fund it because they couldn't imagine how the movie would look like. Then the creators and writer duo had it storyboarded to make it more visual and that is what got it sold. I wouldn't be surprised if they used this also for Dangal because it has fight scenes and you don't want to end up with the same visuals. As for more character driven movies, yes, it's also used because they need the landscape to tell a story and again, the same visual would be boring. Hitchcock used it too for his movies.

that totally depends on the director not the budget. if the director is confident enough with his skills he wont use it. Like rohit shetty just lands on the set and uses toy cars to show the entire crew what is to be shot. Story boarding is nothing but a medium to explain the sequences, look and feel of the movie to anyone that needs it. It can be for the producer, stuntmen, director or even the visual effect artists. It's like a comic strip or cheap animation to make sure everyone concerned understands the details and are on the same page.

This got nothing to do with confidence but with preparation. Film making is a group process and everyone needs to know in time what they are ought to do. The camera crew and art director need to know before shooting what they are ought to do.

Wait! But you didn't show us any examples of the Computer-Generated storyboards. How do they look in a single flow?

Anyone knows of a similar series....but for Hollywood??
