This is one of the nicest, if not THE nicest, videos produced by Julie. The Hanham family is wonderful, as well as all the staff that works in the estate. However, if I had to single out anyone it would be Louise Marshall, what a lovely lady she is! The way she cares for those adorable animals is admirable. A wonderful video, truly 10 out of 10! Congratulations!

The story of the death of Capt. John Hanham highlights the harsh, and sometimes very cruel, nature of the British military system. It is worth remembering that Great Britain was the last European nation to abolish flogging in its armed forces and this took place in 1881! The cause of Capt. Hanham´s death was his own stupidity (or cruelty); had he been a sensible man he would not have punished the soldier or just dismissed him with a reprimand. PS: How adorable the little doggie in the library!

Why is it when the Gardener said " a nice big juicy one " I immediately thought of the handsome son-in-law 🤔 ? How very naughty of me . 🤦 The son-in-law seems rather neglected in this video about gloriously well designed architecture . 😅🤷🤦Any 🍆 in that spectacular garden ? I must confess I was wrong in a previous video about Libraries will blue walls . This color blue in this gorgeous Library is stunning and brings out the beautiful dark wood furniture . The grain of the wood comes alive next to the blue walls . This blue seems warm and cozy and not cold as I would imagine blue walls to be . This blue color is perfect for a Library and I'm going to presume that the windows , natural light , and the direction of the room with regards to sunlight places a factor in the warmth of the room and the blue not appearing cold or depressing . The story of the widow and her letter ✉ and note 📝 about the bullet was very touching and heartbreaking . Love the history of these homes as well as the families history . Thank all of you for sharing with us .

What a wonderful history!! Wow. I think this might be the best visit of an estate you’ve done yet! It’s interesting to see the different dispositions or personalities of the families of the estates you visit- this family seem really passionate about their home, and relatively progressive and down to earth- lovely. I love their little dog Buster! There are coffee table books here in Australia about wine estate dogs and the dogs personalities/ likes/ dislikes- I’d love something like that on your channel. As for your fear of cattle- you should meet dairy cattle- because they’re handled twice a day they’re very sweet/ docile. ❤

Sir William Hanham emphasized the broader significance of social history, encapsulating the shared understanding of landscape, environment, and communal heritage, which grounds cultural identity. It's essential to recognize the contributions of ordinary people, including tenants, servants, and possibly slaves, to the legacy of grand estates. While acknowledging respect for these historic houses and their occupants, it's evident that they often exist in a privileged bubble, detached from the realities of ordinary citizens. Questions arise regarding their engagement with broader societal concerns, such as charitable contributions. Despite their titles and grandeur, their focus appears insular. It's worth noting that within the peerage, a Baron holds the lowest rank, merely denoting nobility with land ownership..Whilst a baronetcy is not a peerage; so baronets, like knights and junior members of peerage families, are commoners and not peers of the realm

Not growling.....but definitely feel the need to say nope...leave our Sophie alone. This event is one of the first very important events that Edward and Sophie have stood in Prince Phillips shoes. It would have been hugely emotional for both of them. Both extremely close to the late Duke of Edinburgh...and the significance of this special day. Hugely close to their hearts. Her coat was probably the last thing on her mind. Think if you had a dad who did the same thing for 50 years and it was something all your neighbours loved to watch and then he died and you had to do it...not an easy task ...😢The new Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh looked perfect and appropriate. Weather changeable appropriate, age appropriate and occasion appropriate . You gotta remember you are not in UK...everyone wears coats in uk..maybe it wasn't fitting properly with no time to remedy. Most of the family lost a lot of weight after the Queens death, no doubt from grief and stress thanks to Henry and Rachel and ridiculous pathetic reporters talking rubbish during a very sad time for everyone in the commonwealth. Especially UK. Nobody in uk would have cared about a coat taking the edge off the chilly spring breeze. Especially at this event. Big historic importance. Also The gorgeous Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh doesn't dress to stand out. Only prominent monarch is supposed to...to be easily seen by the public and to stand out in photos on special occasions. You need to understand that the working royals are not there to stand out. They are not the stars...the French soldiers were the focus in this instance. Duchess Sophie and Princess Royal will never be seen in anything of a fashion stand out unless its a state dinner or such. Their goal is,and always will be to ensure focus goes onto whom they are giving recognition to. Unfortunately this has been efd up thanks to Tabloids not knowing, caring or respecting what a life of service actually means. Its not about what any woman is wearing. Its what she is doing. Ditto for the men.

Hi American Viscoutess. Lovely house at Deans Court! Like your comments on mental health. Mental hearth is serious - it covers all the functions in life. People should read the Bible to stay sane.& acknowledge God & the Saviour Jesus. If we look at the Old Testament or the Bible Nebuchadnezzar & blessing. He was driven mad & led to live in the wild because he did not acknowledge God as the source of all that he had or accomplished. Let's enjoy the houses Ms. Viscount & give thanks. Bless Badger.
