Being really tiny I think is probably one of the most difficult things in pregnancy as it can cause a lot of complications so I’m glad she’s been able to gain that extra weight to balance it out

so, I hope this doesn't come across as a backhanded compliment because it is 100% not meant that way!! You look about 10 years younger now, and you look amazing. I do think you looked underweight before and yes your face was thinner, but it was so thin it made you look older than you are. Everyone is more critical of themselves than what other people see, and I imagine if you're also physically not feeling well it's hard to feel like you look good, but from our lens, you look like a beautiful pregnant woman! Feel better, take it easy and don't stop talking about your pregnancy, it's exciting!

Lexie Ostler she does! But I get her I’ve been that underweight before and gained to a normal amount and it’s just so odd seeing yourself looking so different. Even though you do look “better” you still feel insecure because your body has changed. Even though it’s a good change it is still hard.

colleen, i believe you were underweight before your pregnancy. it makes me sad that now that your body is a healthy weight, you’re upset about it. i think your body is so much healthier now that you’re pregnant. i think you may have a type of body dysmorphia. your body is so healthy looking and you feel self conscious about it. that makes me really sad

Sarcastically_me - Right! Just about every pregnancy symptom will magically disappear the second she gives birth. I had super weird symptoms like pregnancy carpal tunnel. Who gets that? Me. Also had pregnancy gingivitis. Didn’t know that was a thing. I was extremely congested with my second pregnancy. Oh yes, I elected to go through it twice! Why? Because now I have 2 wonderful boys that have taught me what it means to love unconditionally. It’s truly amazing how a moms heart expands to make room to love. (Not literally😋)

Colleen, do you think there's a possibility you might have body dysmorphia? Even before you were pregnant, you seemed to be hyper-aware of your weight and very critical of it, and it would be a huge deal to you if you gained weight even though you were always still super tiny. I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder, which means that my anxiety doesn't fall into any single category, so I have several symptoms of different anxiety disorders, one of which is body dysmorphia...I'm not compulsive about fixing it the way people who truly have body dysmorphia do, but I am constantly obsessing over the way my body looks, and my mind blows every flaw out of proportion (at least according to everyone else). I'm not a psychologist so I don't know for sure, but I'm suspecting--it's just a possibility--that you could be experiencing this too. It's just something to consider. I don't know exactly what's going on, but I just don't want you to struggle with your body so much. You're beautiful

I really don't think you should self-diagnose something as serious as BDD. I'm diagnosed with it, and it is living hell from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to bed. My entire wardrobe is based around it from the neckline, sleeve length, torso length, thickness, color, material, and maybe more. I avoid going out in public as much as I can. I don't make eye contact and I ask people not to look at me. Being insecure is not BDD. If it doesn't heavily interfere with your daily life, you don't have it.

Lily & Ian - I didn’t get the nice thick shiny hair til about 5-6 months. One thing people don’t mention is that those luscious pregnancy locks literally come out by the handfuls a few months after giving birth. I’m talking clumps of hair and it gets dry and frizzy. Don’t worry, if you don’t experience luscious locks during your pregnancy, luckily you won’t have to worry about it all falling out afterward. *hairdresser with 20 years experience* **edit- congratulations on your pregnancy, enjoy your little miracle your growing inside yourself.

I think a lot of women who have always identified as skinny/small framed people go through this to some extent during/post pregnancy, and I am glad you are mentioning it! Working on body acceptance is a heck of a journey. It's totally normal to feel like you're looking at strangers body when your body goes through so many changes SO FAST and to feel some resistance and dysmorphia. It's how we respond to that and adjust our relationship to food etc that determines whether we are handling it in a healthy way or not.

You are literally the only thing keeping me going through my pregnancy, your honesty is keeping me going through the struggle and pain I am going through and I just want you to know how much it means to me ♡♡♡

Love that your talking about the hard parts of being pregnant. Not all of us have smooth pregnancies and boy it is HARD. I was literally throwing up 5-6 times EVERY SINGLE DAY while pregnant with both of my children all while experiencing terrible nausea every day as well. So I totally get it girl! So so happy for you!

I completely understand where you’re coming from. I’m a week ahead of you in my pregnancy and I started “underweight” (I wasn’t underweight, just really slim). Same! I’m 18 and I definitely want kids someday, but pregnancy scares me, literally thinking of everything that could go wrong scares the heck out of me! And like, so many children need to be adopted, they need love and I feel like that suits me better. Pregnancy isn’t something I want to experience but I find it amazing.

It’s so hard watching your body go through changes so quickly when our minds have been programmed that beauty means being thin. Your body is growing another human! I had to remind myself of the beautiful life growing inside of me throughout my pregnancy and probably for a year after my LO was born. You are AMAZING!

I know what you mean but my weight gain was due to antidepressants. I also was under weight at the start and now I'm considered a little over weight. But honestly before you got pregnant I was very concerned about your weight and how skinny you were. If it's natural then it's okay but if not then the extra weight gain on you was needed and healthy . Hope your pregnant is smooth sailing from here on out ❤❤

Thank you for talking about this! I understand the insecurities. I gained 50 pounds with my son and went from a size 5 to a 14. All the women in my life gained minimal weight and were back down to their normal clothes the day they gave birth. For a long time I felt like a failure because I was the only one that didn’t. People need to hear that this is part of pregnancy and frankly part of life.

Pregnancy definitely suits you! I’ve been watching you for years and never have I seen you look so happy and healthy!

I grew up watching Mary Kate and Ashley movies. Omg the nostalgia. Colleen you are so beautiful. I’ve never been pregnant but I can imagine how hard it is to watch your body change and gain weight. I just recently last year found out I was a diabetic and before I found that out I was so confused as to why I was gaining so much weight so fast and it was so hard to watch myself change like that. But of course everything is under control but you will bounce back fast.

I know it’s so hard right now and I went thought the same with the pregnancy of my son, but have a good cry about it and try and remember that it’s all temporary . I think you look beautiful. I suffer from anorexia and when I was pregnant ,the weight gain is so hard to except . You are so hard on yourself you are doing amazing xx

I hear where you coming from, it’s hard, but it’s not forever. Enjoy it!! I was 105 when I became pregnant with my first son and went into the hospital at 9 months at 180 :) walked out of the hospital 2 days after at 124! It will fall off after he is born. Your so beautiful!!

Pregnancy is hard as fuck. I went through a hard pregnancy like her and I almost died. Literally. Me and my son both could have died if it wasn't for amazing doctors. My son was born 6 weeks early because my body couldn't handle how hard pregnancy was. So leave her alone you have no fucking clue what you guys are talking about.

Estella McCaffery ...Yeah, the whole hating her regular ol thin face (cam even adds 10 lbs) even while preg was a slap in the face to me. Runners faces & too skinny=looking OLDER much sooner! She does look a little younger now.

colleen i really do love you, but i think maybe you're the one who has/had the wrong idea of pregnancy. Every time you do those little "most pregnant women are like "my hair is so nice, i only out on 5 pounds this month"" ect.. no pregnant woman are actually saying or doing that? I watch a lot of family vloggers (not all obviously, but a very large amount) and almost every single one of them talk about the negatives and how hard pregnancy is on their bodies. I'm not trying to be rude or say you can't complain because I can only imagine how difficult pregnancy can be somedays, but I think you put this message out that every other pregnant​ woman is thriving and throwing daisies and youre the odd woman out when its not like that at all.
