I remember my mother mentioning the Gamestop event to me while she was driving us someplace, back when it just starting to catch in the news. She was on the side of the rich people, of course (despite us never having been among them), saying it should be illegal, that it had to be illegal, that it was bad for the economy if people could just do things like this, that there had to be some sort of technicality, etc. I just responded with three words: "Free market, baby." She demanded I not say another word for the rest of the car ride, LOL.

I was gonna suggest perhaps some real journalists could look into insider trading occurring for politicians only to immediately realize any that have done so and found anything most likely are no longer alive to speak or were extorted into keeping silent. I honestly can't blame real journalists not wanting to investigate politicians and powerful people given how often we see whistleblowers die under mysterious circumstances.

3 separate PC games I bought from Game Stop never worked; all said the code was already used. When I went back to complain, they said there was nothing they could do because only the publisher could deal with it. The publisher said no, game stop that sold it to me had to fix it. So much money was wasted on games I never got to play. 12 years later, they still sit on my shelf, untouched to remind me of my anger for them.

Congress should not be allowed to trade stocks. They should only be allowed to invest in index funds because of their job. They're always gonna have inside information. There's no way not to use that information when purchasing stocks. It's not something you can ignore. It will 100% influence their purchases.

When the rich get mad when someone else becomes rich using legal means…. Unlike them.

I love how he responds in his hearing in the most professional manner... while in his KZread studio with the "Hang in there" cat poster in the background. The guy's has this really loveable vibe.

Game stop is great , I bought a ps5 controller and a year warranty for it that says i can trade in my ps5 controller for new one if it gets damaged, then 2 months after my purchase they change the policy ,so now i get to trade in my damaged contoller that has stick drift for a (preowned) slightly less damaged contoller with stick drift 😮 👍 thanks Gamestop you're the best!

the data doesn't really suggest a short squeeze causing the price increase. A short squeeze rlly is only when u create a positive feed back loop of shorters closing their position which increases the price which causes more shorters to close their position. In GME's case, the price rising was all from retail buying the stock, and shorters just lost money the normal way u can lose money when you short a stock
