We tried to tell you!!! 😂😂 Powerhouse vocals, unlike any other gg, etc. I’m just excited you know them now!!! You haven’t let anyone down. There is literally 100s of groups. Impossible to Stan them all. From left to right: Moonbyul, Solar, WheeIn and Hwasa (maknae). They also release solo content and subunit like what Moonbyul and Solar just released. They have received some crappy treatment from the industry and people. Weight, not pretty enough, from smaller company. So proud of them for not breaking and trying to fit into the k-pop ideal idol system. They have a Latin influence in some songs that I love. I would suggest Where Are We Now next, Illella, and the latest album by Moonbyul and Solar. It is very theatrical. Only 3 songs and I love all three. 💚

Moonbyul, the rapper is a vocalist actually, she was just forced in that role, but she enjoyed it in the end. She has the most writing credits of female kpop (114). June 19 2014 they debuted. They earned the title by the GP (general public), BeLisMamoo or "Believe and Listen to Mamamoo" because of their songs and vocals. Rags to riches kind of story, going to multiple auditions w/o any backup relatives or rich parents. Just pure talent that made them famous. 🥰 Immortal songs medley! 11mins of pure vocals! When they were rookies they entered this show Immortal Songs, old classic Korean songs, they'll remake it and make it into their own. They go against big singers in SK. Have fun in the radish farm.

Welcome to Mamamoo. Hwasa was actually fighting a cold when they performed this, so she's a little huskier than usual. Their ultimate vocal flex is The Immortal Songs medley which is a clip from their 2017 concert. Immortal songs is a Korean competition show where the contestants cover songs by famous Korean artists. Mamamoo was the first idot group to win the competition. They appeared 14 times and won 3. They are famously wonderful live so if you have a chance to go to a performance (First time having a world tour after 9 years) you should grab it.

The Immortal Songs Medley is one of my favorite things ever, but their ultimate vocal flex was when they did a promotional video for one of their albums and sang snippets of the songs a capella. Nobody else would have the guts to even try that, but they nailed every note.

Mamamoo when they first came out weren't known as a crazy vocalist group even though you can see how talented they are. They were known more for dance and club music but the narrative changed as time went on. It took a long time for them to get their flowers, but now they are a major factor in kpop. Solar is the leader of the group and she's the power voice. She's actually a lot older considering it's kpop. To the left is the rapper moonbyul who is actually really good vocally as well. Wheein(third from left to right) is the in-between vocalist who attaches solars power and hwasa's raspy cords. Hwasa is the far right and her unique voice and her attitude have always had her in the front. For one she wasn't the traditional light skinned skinny girl and she just screams sassiness. They are a highly talented group and one thing about their music( I'm an almost 40 year old male) their sound is timeless. Even their solo songs are great. Hwasa probably has had the most solo success away from the group. They've been a group I've cheered for from the beginning and I'm glad they've made it big.

Yes! I’ve been hoping you would check them out since your first bts reaction haha - especially since you appreciate vocals and harmonies so much. Mamamoo formed in 2014 under a very small label, and experienced a lot of struggles during their early years, they were very underrated in the wider industry. From left to right, their names are Moonbyul (rapper, born 1992, of the most credited female composers and lyricists in the kpop industry!), Solar (born 1991, leader; she and Moonbyul have a subunit and released several songs together very recently), Wheein (born 1995, vocalist), and Hwasa (also born 1995, childhood best friends with Wheein, they even have matching friendship tattoo). All members have solo projects as well as many full group albums in the past 9 years they’ve been together. They’re really sweet and kind and so funny and (obviously) very talented, they deserve everything they got and so much more. Their fans are called Moomoos by the way :)

What do you need to know? That could become a ten page essay. Shortened version, Mamamoo are humble queens who started from nowhere in a small agency and did their own hair, makeup, and even choreography in the beginning, but were quickly known as monster rookies in the music industry for their vocal talents. They got a lot of hate in the beginning from the Korean public, Hwasa especially because of her tan skin and curvy hips, but it made them strong, to the point that now they clap back at the critics in song, like with Hip. Solar was rejected by 40 agencies, mostly for being too old, she was already in her 20s and most idols start in their teens or younger. Moonbyul was let go by one agency for being too fat (hard to imagine), and Wheein and Hwasa were also let go by another agency before being signed up by RBW. Kim Do Hoon is one of RBW's co-founders and co-CEO's and writes most of Mamamoo's songs. The company went from having nothing to now owning a 14 story building and several groups and even has an international presence, all thanks to Mamamoo. Idol wannabes have to sign a contract promising to repay the company the cost of their training, and many never earn enough to repay the debt they owe, so they don't make any money. Mamamoo paid off three years' worth of training in 18 months, a record at the time. They did it by working their asses off, putting in 14 hour days and doing as many as four appearances a day. They were the second most popular group on college campuses because they always ad libbed the name of the college into their songs. The girls (women) are all very funny, very down to earth, and soft-hearted badasses, if that makes sense. They care a lot about their fans (Wheein learned sign language just because she found out the group has hard of hearing fans), but they don't give a damn about your opinion of them. Hwasa in particular will tweak her haters by doing the same thing again, or flipping it. Mamamoo's message of female empowerment translates into an almost exclusively female fan base, 96% female to 4% male. Oh, and they are gay AF, at least on the stage, and in Moonbyul's and Solar's case, most likely for real. Wheein and Hwasa are childhood friends and sooooper comfortable with physical affection.

Mamamoo is great, they also have good solo songs my favourite is Moonbyul's Shutdown and Hwa Sa's LMM.

If you want to be really blown away by them watch their Immortal Songs Medley! You will also get a feel for what they are like in concert!

Moonbyul actually auditioned as a singer and was suggested to become the rapper by the company during debut. Even without much experience in rapping, she continued to become one of the 3rd gen's most celebrated rapper and the most credited female rapper in kpop. Recently she's been singing more and she won a singing competition called Second World. Another fun fact is that Hwasa, the one on the right, actually have colds during the recording of this video and still she slayed 🔥 Each of the 4 members have solo albums that you should definitely check out too.

I recommend Part 2 from this Channel if you want to know their discography. Still The BEST Introduction Guide was by Purple Hawke. The first and original masterpiece that was made by pure hardwork and creativity.

If we were to tell you everything you need to know about Mamamoo it would be a thesis length essay. I'll give you some of the basics: Members from left to right: Moonbyul - Moon Byulie. Main rapper, singer, and co-dance captain with Wheein. Aka Moonstar because byul means star. Solar - Kim Yongsun. Leader, singer, eldest member. Wheein - Jung Wheein. Singer, co-dance captain. Hwasa - Ahn Hyejin. Singer, rapper, maknae. Hwasa had a cold that day so her voice was more nasal than usual but you're correct about the sexiness and raspiness. She makes everything she sings sound sexy (even children's songs) and is sometimes called The Fatal Maknae because of her sultry appeal. Mamamoo debuted in 2014 as the first group under the tiny startup agency RBW (Rainbowbridge World). The members were recruited by well-known songwriter and RBW co-CEO Kim Dohoon, who plucked them off the scrap heap of rejects and retreads from other companies. Solar had failed about 50 auditions because companies thought she was too old and Hwasa had been bluntly told she was fat and ugly and sent packing. Moonbyul & Wheein left another company after failing to debut and eventually signed with RBW. Kim Dohoon had the novel idea of promoting a group of all-stars based on their vocal talent, performance skills and creativity rather than prioritizing how well they'd fit in one of kpop's usual girl group marketing concepts like cute, innocent, sexy or girl crush. Industry insiders told him he was crazy and predicted Mamamoo would fail miserably. It was touch and go for a while because RBW had a small staff, little money and few resources to promote MMM but the girls' relentless hard work and world class talent won out in the end. Mamamoo is involved in all creative aspects of their career including songwriting (lyrics & music), choreography, styling and MV concepts. They've released over a dozen albums as a group, solo or a subunit and have dozens of MVs and hundreds of hours of live performances available. Each member has a successful solo career as well - MMM was the first group to have all members chart on Billboard as solo artists while the group was still active as a unit. Any moomoo (Mamamoo fan) will tell you that Mamamoo is best when they're live because of the amazing, always live vocals (they can't lip sync to save their lives), riveting stage presence and bff chemistry. They're a close knit 4X4 team who believe they were destined to meet regardless of whether they were singers or in a group together and the two oldest and two youngest members are pairs of best friends. Solar & Moonbyul are almost inseparable and Wheein & Hwasa have been best friends since middle school. I think their closeness is the secret sauce that elevates them to the next level. Finally Mamamoo! Their discography is amazing and if you are able to see them live, you are very lucky! They do have solos to check out and plenty of content out there. They really shine in their live performances. Glad you gave these vocal queens a chance.

Mamamoo, Solar - power vocals - leader - crackhead, Moonbuyl - rapper - dancer - vocalist and troll (in a good way) Wheein - honey vocals - dancer - crackhead and the Ace, Hwasa - raspy vocals - rapper and the baby of the group. They all have successful solo careers but like to hang with each other and keep Mamamoo going. They do live vocals at concerts and are known as the Queens of live performances. Check immortal songs (Delilah) and the immortal songs medley for a taste of their live vocals. Queendom has the best version of I miss you (live). For their MV’s go to the offical channel as they all have subs and RBW are reactor friendly. Mic On is their latest album released late last year, Solar and Moonbuyl have just released a joint album GGBB.

Mamamoo MAMA performance is another level. You need to see that

please go watch them live if you can! i saw them twice this year and can 100% confirm that they bring this energy to the shows too. their stage presence is unreal - you can tell they love what they do and play off of one another so well. even if you're just getting into mamamoo, you need to get tickets to their concert!! tbh i think their concert is a must ESPECIALLY if you are just starting to listen to them, their setlist is so varied so you'll really get a taste of what they can do (which is everything). go go go! have fun!! EDIT: i'm not sure if this is a spoiler at this point since the clips have been going around since the start of the tour, but they each have a solo segment during the concert where they cover each other's solo songs/comebacks (i hope that makes sense). all 4 of them have solo projects that are all SUPER different from one another, so it's so cool to see them switch it up!

I don't know much about them, but they have some connections to bts. Solar (the second from the left) is addicted to blood sweat & tears (there's a compilation on youtube). one of them is a friend of Jin. two of them hosted a tv show together with V and j-hope. and they like to change their lyrics at live shows. in one of them they praised bts and they also covered them some times.

I really love their Killing Voice, it expertly shows off their vocal colors. Moonbyul- Cool, Solar- Power, WheeIn- Honey, Hwasa- Smokey.

This is the best group of vocalists and the rapper moonbyul can sing very well also. That was live and they always sound that good live, so much so people have to look hard for clues it really is live because it sounds so good. Solar was the belter with the power and is the leader and oldest. Wheein was next to her, honey vocals and Hwasa was the sultry one, youngest and she actually had a cold during this video. With albums, Solos(yes they all have solos), their youtubes, covers, collabs, OSTs they do over 20 songs a year. Any MV is good, they do everything from old school big band and jazz, r&b, hip hop, reggaeton, pop, even some songs that could be US Country and some Rock. two of the members Solar and Moonbyul just released an album of 3 songs, with two MVs chico malo and GGBB, both great. 1llella, 1.2.3 EOI and LIEC was from their last album, which they are doing a concert tour of right now. Some of the best vocals they do are found on live videos, like a Pikachu song, which shows off their talent, Solar had an end of year karaoke on her Solarsido youtube in it among other songs is a Frankie Valli cover of Cant Take my eyes off you, and a really good live performance is from Hwasa TV, mamamoo live collection which is the full song of 1llella, a medley of more songs and solos and ends with Paint me which is another of their incredible ballads. All done live with a live band.

This performance is great, but it's like them having fun singing in the shower. They really explode live, so I would recommend their Immortal Songs Medley (its about 15 minutes of a four hour concert and I sweat only from listening to it. Hwasa - the lady on the right you picked as the rapper - started as rapper and vocalist, but doesn't that much anymore. Moonbyul on the left started as a vocalist but became the rapper cause... well the other three are on another level. But she just won a girl group rappers singing competition and that with getting full point in (almost) every round.f

I would recommend listening to their Queendom performances and their song "where are we now."

Another group that has great vocals but is up and coming is Fifty Fifty, their new and only have a few songs but they already have a Billboard Top 100 song so they are one to look out for.
