The accident shown at 2:42 couldn’t have been in the 50s because there is a 1962 Chevy shown in the background.

I can say, I have two antiques, '49 Buick and a '36 Buick. I work on them all the time. I can say one thing, these old cars are so dangerous because there are no safety features in them at all. What they called safety back in the day is still very dangerous by today's standards! I know for sure when you drive these cars, always keep in the back of your mind that these cars fold up and do not protect you from impact. Plus the steering wheel alone can decapitate you! And trust me, they are not as strong as they are perceived to be. I'd rather be in a Toyota Camry and be hit by one of these instead of being the antique! Thanks for the video!!

Back then crowds standing around looking at the wreck. Nowadays, nobody could care less and just keep driving.
Some of the vehicles in photos designated as 1940's and 50's are from the 50's and 60's, along with the cars in the background.

Best use of an OPEL that I’ve ever seen…
0:01 - a badly crashed German Opel Rekord P1 (1957-60) and a Ford Taunus P2 (1957-60), built in Cologne/Germany. Both cars have Swiss license plates, Canton Aargau and Nidwalden.
Let's just throw random dates out there..😏..cool clip though, like the music too.
First picture is in Switzerland. One car has NI which is Nidwald the other AG, Argau. Two states of the country.

@@mrcoz1764Those old cars are tin boxes on wheels, nothing is 'sturdy' on them compared to new cars which have sophisticated unibody designs made from far better steel and are numerically optimized via linear and nonlinear finite element methods. I would sit in a new Audi, Chevy, Ford or Toyota and hit those old cars with 40 mph straight on and be able to walk away whereas the old banger would be crushed, the steering wheel would probably touch the drivers seat.

No these are colorized photos
At 7: 27. That's late 1950s. Newest vehicle show is a 57' Ford. If it was 60s there'd be at least one vehicle from that time period amongst all of those shown.
Could have sworn that was a bullet hole in the passenger window on the black and yellow 56 chevy near the beginning of the video
Picture from 2:54 is not " 1960s ". Look at the car and the clothing styles of those bystanders. Early to mid-50s.
Some pictures show an incorrect time.
Music inappropriate to the tragic scenes. Then again perhaps not? Author of this post have schadenfreude in mind?
7:12 that is a closed casket service 😔
How do you know those drivers were insane?
We’re a lot of these cars repairable or all scraped
At 7: 45. The cars, the clothes. That's from the early to mid-30s,...not 1952.
2:49/829 1960s Good people 😊
Back when "One for the road" was a popular saying but probably not such a good idea. 2:48 depicts a crash from the 1950's, with a 1962 Chevy Impala passing by. I guess the occupants are visiting from the future 🤣
At 19 seconds in , those were not Sheriff's deputies. Those were state troopers from the Illinois State Police.
Weird. No glass. No skid marks. No debris. Cool "accidents".
Ruined the pain job, but the over spray on the spare and right rear tire survived.

4:35 / 8:28 The cars shown are not 1960s cars.
The dates on some of the photos are not correct.
Photo at 2:32 is very doubtful as " 1957 " More likely late 30s or early 40s. Wrecker as even from 30s-40s.
At 4: 08. Again, look at vehicle and clothing of bystanders. Not " 1946 ". Sometime in the 1930s.
At 4:34. Again, look at the vehicle and at people's clothes. Early to mid-50s...not 1960s.
7:25 / 8:28 Not 1960s. Not one of the 20 or so cars was later than 1957 at best.
Any expert tell me what that antique van was at 3:95?? That looked like maybe a milk 🚚 of old??

At 3:55 there is a Metro delivery truck made by International. Probably mid to late 1950’s. The styles didn’t change much year to year on those.
I didn’t get to watch it all I fell sleep to the music
So many of these "totalled" cars would get rebuilt today.
The colorization is imaginative, but there really weren't many pink or purple cars in the '40's.

narrate the correct year in one claimed to be the 1950s there was clearly a 1962 chevy impala in the background i know the car because that was my first car that i ever owned, not in the picture shown to clearify
2:50 , NOT in the 50s
Had to give this vid a thumbs down just for how inaccurate the years were on these photos
It most people lived through the crashes do they made cars fall apart in accidents to kill off people at higher speeds
