I got 38,5 amp battery but as I researched there are 2 versions of it and only one is boosted to 8,5kw, unless they update soft and I dont know about it xD. My main concern would be that it drains battery really fast at max power. Need lot of money but maybe in future I would pair TC500 with 60 amp battery for optimal range and power

Yeah it needs say 37ah underneath the battery to be able to run 8.5kw

I was able to get to 87km/hr with the stock 32ah battery running 7.3kW!

get the bac 8000 and a 72v ebmx battery makes the bike insane I love mine

Are they worth the money. Im thinking of getting one myself i have the 23 plate road legal one. Ive cut the green wire on mine and currently does 51 mph standard. Will the speed increase by much with the tc500 controllor on the standard battery?

It gave me a minor top speed increase, probably around 2-3km, but I have the 32ah battery so it might be different with the newer ones. The controller definitely makes the bike feel a lot more powerful on the low end. I'd say it was worth it, especially if you're considering upgrading to a more powerful battery down the line.

What size tires are you running? They're the Shinko SR244's correct? I have a 244 on the back of my surron and it killed all of the low end torque. I also am using a extra heavy duty inner tube. Maybe the tube is playing with the weight a little bit as well.

Yeah they're the 244's. But it could be the tube you're running that's adding the extra weight. I actually had to upgrade to a heavier tube + added a stem lock to my rear tire because my valve stem ripped off since I had the extra power from the controller 😂 I also put a 54t sprocket on to make the low end better and it's 10x better. Feels great on the low end and I don't really care about top speeds, so it's perfect for me.

Bro, this thing is awesome! I hope they are releasing one for Talarias! I have an MX3, and an MX4 (Sting R) with the 45Ah battery. :) I'm in the same camp as you - I don't want to bypass the stock battery, and I love how the Torp integrates with the existing system so well. Really seems this is the controller to get in order to get the most out of a stock bike while allowing for all the growth one would need...I plan to 72V one of my Talarias eventually, but this thing could keep me happy enough to put that off for quite a while longer. Cool thing is you could do the Torp, then save up and do the battery to further increase range and power, and finally do a motor swap for the trifecta and crank the Torp up to da moon lol

They just announced that they're making the TC500 compatible with the MX4 / STING R! Just saw it on their Facebook page.

Will the Torp work without the display? Also great video!

Yup, you can run the TORP display, stock surron display, or you can choose to have no display at all. It's just a setting in the app

can you turn on and off the brake regen without the brake wires from the app?

No, you need to have the stock brake regen cables in order for the brake regen to work. But there's a setting called 'Throttle off regen' in the app, and that's basically when you let off the throttle, the regen kicks in. It's really nice for trail riding especially.

@@pxlazer_ Yup! There's 2 options in the app. One for brake sensor regen, and a seperate one for throttle release regen. You'll be able to turn it off very easy through the app.

You know you could have ran 7.2KW on the bac right?

I know. I didn't wanna bypass my battery though, so I was only running 5.5kW. Anything more would cut out.

careful with the 500, someones bike randomly caught on fire and it wasn't even on. He was using a torp controller I seen it on reddit destroyed his ENTIRE battery as well melted the hell outta it. The fire started from the controller itself as well not the battery.
