Some of the best paint on the market is finger nail polish. You can touch up the jigs with whatever color you wish to apply. Make them look new again. Colors are limitless, solids, pearlescent, metal flake, the imagination is your limit. That was a rockin roockfish, the red was a big old momma. Good on you for giving her another season of spawning. Oh the fingernail polish also comes with its own brush, what a deal!!!

We use jigs all the time in Southeast Alaska and sometimes we will put a small strip of bait fish on there to entice them. Those jigs usually have a flutter when they sink and it is supposed imitate a wounded bait fish. And good on you for releasing that nice vermillion!!!

I believe a jig represents an injured bait fish erratically darting up and then 'fluttering' back down the water column.

The jigging action is meant to cause a reaction bite. The fluttering and flashing on the fall is supposed to look like a bait fish that is injured or dying. Love the videos brother specially in the yak! 1love

Great video Adam. Jigging is an imitation of injured fish/baitfish.. some flutters so that trick will imitate an injured fish. Good luck on your next fishing trip..
