John lives just down the road from me . guy just finished a 10' jet boat that is super sick . guy is a master mind when it comes to fab skills.

can't wait to see it in action..the ways he's building this boat. I'm sure it will be very soon. very cool to watch

SMG Fishin' it's more intimidating then anything to weld aluminum best advice I can give is buy a decent set up and practice a bunch I'm still learning but definitely getting better. I have about $1100 into my welding set up

That seems like a reasonable price for a setup but I have too many expensive hobbies for now. Maybe sometime in the future I'll try to pick it up. You're doing great work man keep it up!

thats pretty cool it looks good but its going to cavitate to bad to get any speed out of it because the intake is flush with the flat of the hull

I guess it's a project that's starts out small then grows in time into a major.

the winch also works for anchor also

Like Cliff Poche’s boat. His non tournament boat is a jet boat and has a winch. I just watched a video where he winched himself over a huge boulder. Funnier still is he had to wrap his winch cable around another boulder. Thats how you find fish that haven’t seen a lure.

Beaver tail adds drag witch reduces speed

You guys could make a killing by selling those grates and boxes and beaver tail pods or just build those boats ready for someone to set the motor of their desire in it.

Great looking boat!!!! I'm just joined the tiny boat nation on Facebook! Great page! We run a 50 hp outboard jet on one of our boats and the only problem I see with this is if he runs through a weed bed and takes on weeds, how in the heck will he clean that bottom grate out lol! any thoughts? Better pack some scuba gear! Can't wait to see it when it's done! Great build!

Jerry Dunn you are right weeds can be of concern just have to be careful and smart about where you go in it. thankfully the areas I go are relatively weedless

outlaw garage and restoration as much and as well as you fabricate I wonder it there could be some kind of a garbage disposal installed in the jet intake so if it ever takes on weeds you could flip a switch and clear the intake. Kind of a silly thought but maybe something could be added?

Jerry Dunn for the little I go though weeds I'm hoping the intake guard and stainless impeller will keep it relatively clean I'll know more once I start using it. worst case I make a stomp grate for it so if it clogs I push a lever and the grate separates and kicks the crap off

Should've made the bow into a V so it cuts through waves instead of beating your guts up when another boat passes you in a narrow channel.

It's not a "wench" That's a bar maid or kitchen worker. The word you're trying to say is "Winch" but it's actually not a winch when it's mounted on the bow of a boat. In that case it's called a "Windlass"

mike breaux licensing homemade boats sucks where I'm at and I started making one from scratch but with just starting welding aluminum I wasn't comfortable with that so I felt better about starting with something and making it mine. i have a tacked together 1660 I started and I'll finish some day

drove one very similar.you tilt steering to much at high speed and your suddenly doing a 360 with an o sh#t face.
