The "King tiger looking thing" Is actually the Porsche submission for the King Tiger. Except Henschel won the contract(again) but a couple of those Porsche turret designs were already produced by Krupp so they were mounted on to the Henschel's hull design as the pre-production. The rest were entirely henschel design that you are more familiar with.

I'm pretty sure the tank you mentioned to be amphibious was actually designed to survive a nuclear war and was developed in 1959 with the extra tracks being for better cross country performance and the shape of the hull to prevent the vehicle being overturned by a nuclear blast (of course that wouldn't really help the crew inside if the blast was close enough) the soviets only made 3 prototypes before Khrushchev made it that the soviet military would not adopt tanks of 37 tons as he was more i favour of missile tanks such as the IT-1 (a conversion of the T-62).

Alternate history scenario: October, 1943 After the disastrous loss of North Africa, and the horribly botched invasion of Russia, German high command successfully carried out a coupe, culminating in the disbanding of the Nazi Government, and execution of senior 3rd Reich officials. Now with Germany once again controlled by competent men, the Wermacht rallies against the Allied onslaught, combining strategic withdrawal and calculated counter attacks to stem the tide. The Axis is reorganized and priorities are put in order. The Fatherland is battered, but he is not yet beaten, there is yet hope for the future of Germany...

I did something like that in Hearts of Iron 3, except I started in 1936. Kinda stuck at 1938, though. I already took most of Europe and made Russia surrender everything west of the Ural mountains-- So I'm thinking of taking Turkey, Austria and Czechlosovakia. And then I still need to figure out what to do for another several months because I can't do a thing to Britain until the First German fleet is completed (ETA 1940). I might make Sweden, Finland, Norway, Spain and Portugal puppets with that extra time. (That means ALL of Europe will be Axis.) America will be the biggest challenge. If it takes too long, then I'll nuke them.

Diplex. Battle idea. 2nd Battle of Verdun, 1946 U.S and British Armored Corp and Anti Tank Battalions are resting in the city of Verdun after a failed push to head to Aachen about 1 week earlier, and German scout planes have spotted and reported this to a nearby Armored Corp and S.S Battalion are ordered to move up and eradicate or force a rout of these U.S and British combined forces, and secure the city of Verdun. Orders: 1. S.S Battalion Sappers are to sneak in and destroy fuel reserves for the tanks, so they must be set in one spot, or abandon them during a reat. 2. Artillery fire is to bombard forces on the outskirts, S.S infantry is to advance when done so. 3. Armored Corp moves in and attacks the city head on. Vorwarts, kameraden!

This is incredibly entertaining! Thanks for the great vids and Happy New Year to you Diplex :) I know this is a fictional setting (which kicks asses), but can't help to mention that in a more realistic setting the Soviets would definitely soften the defence with immense artillery fire. Even if the air bombers couldn't get to the compound they will probably mass 1,000s of heavy arty and Katyushas. We see how effective these are :) Again this is so much fun to watch. My only gripe is I want to see the footage of the attackers and defenders at the same time to see what happens at the time of the fires and counter-fires. Of course this is difficult and I dunno how you could achieve that lol.

@@razvan7544 we did have some note worthy experimental weapons and some advanced weapons that where given limited deployment. We had the T28 heavy SPG with a 105mm gun. the T29/34 105mm gun heavy tank. and the T30e1 auto loading 155mm gun heavy tank. the T31with a 105mm gun 182mm rotary rocket launcher equipped along with a flame thrower 50cal gun, and a 30 call gun. The T32 90mm gun medium tank.the Sherman jumbo based T33 with a 75mm gun and flame thrower in the turret. There was the yb40 flying wing bomber. and the P80 shooting star jet aircraft that was deployed in Italy but did not see combat. We also had some crazy weapons that actually where used in combat. Like the A20 havoc's with a 75mm cannon and the Sherman calliope rocket tank. All of the vehicles i mentioned where made before 1945 and all are real vehicles no blue print or paper tanks.

I'm sure you've heard it, but you really should do some research on tanks before presenting them and not knowing anything about them. Your tanks start with a T-44-100 a tank that did exist, followed by T-28's, a tank made before WWII with such a low velocity gun that it couldn't penetrate a Panzer IV reliably. Then you follow it up with T-44-122, and fucking Object 279, a tank made to withstand a nuclear blast. Then KV-4's/5's which are fine, then SU-100M1's and SU-122-54 tanks. You also have IS-3's and IS-4's. It doesn't stake long to google a tank you don't know anything about, and look at the basic attributes of the tanks, and you may learn something.

I I would just like to thank DiplexHeated for all his efforts in trying to entertain us, it is appreciated by the majority of your viewers. It takes hours and skill to put these videos together and instead of complaining about them, just enjoy them. If you want to see historically accurate videos, then make your own before you complain about anyone else's. DiplexHeated, thank you for making these, and I look forward to your future ones.

I saw this map (or a similar one) in the game Faces of War. The concept of modification has been around for a very long time. In the modification of "Faces of War" the red army was attacking. The Germans defended themselves with capture or experimental equipment. Such tanks as (Firefly, T-34 etc.) and Panther II Jagdtiger and many others. It was a long time ago, because as you know, Faces of War is practically unplayable. I love all parts of this game. Soldiers: Heroes of World War II), Ossfront (many parts), Faces of Wam, Men of War, Men of war 2.

Oh, the King Tiger variants that you used are VK 45.02 (P)'s. If you know the competition for the original Tiger tank, the designer that lost (Ferdinand Porsche) was competing with the Tiger I successful designer Henschel for the Tiger II design. Porsche's design had 2 hull configurations, one with the turret in front, and one with the turret on the back (the model you used). Porsche lost, but he already had some turrets manufactured. So they were used on the first Tiger II tanks made by Henschel. However, props to Porsche, he did design the Maus and got that approved for development.

  • @col.greenanole7973

The tank you said looks like a King Tiger looks like one because technically it is one. It was Porsche's answer to German High Command's call for a successor to the Tiger 1. However, it was never accepted... instead, the Henschel prototype was chosen for production.

I'll just correct you a little, the Maus never saw action. When the Soviet forces reached the factories of the Panzer kampfwagen VIII Maus they found one Maus chassis with a wooden turret stuck in mud which was most likely used as a generator for the V2(It was called V1) and one (V2) which was fully operational (to an extent) which had the first produced turret (meant to be fitted with the secondly produced one). The V2 was later found in front of the bunker Maybach I on the Hindenburgplatz and later destroyed the chassis by placing charges in the engine bay and fighting compartments.

Just so you know, they only built 2 Maus tanks, which never were used in combat, they were still at the testing grounds, when the Russians over ran the base. The tank crews blew both tanks up, by packing explosives inside. Which cracked one hull, and blew the turret off the other. The one Maus that is on display, was made by putting the good hull, and the good turret together, no motor or transmission, and no breach for the gun. They have a video on KZread about it.
