I've just ordered it, always wanted to play with this kind of lens. Thank you for the inspirational video!
Glad you got a Chicagohenge video this season. Always some of my favorite. I got some great photos this time around. Also cool lense.
Love this type of content keep going!
Honestly you took so many amazing photos with it! I have to try it once, they all look like some vivid dream
This looks like so much fun…!
Using a Canon TS-E 45mm f/2.8 for years now. You can get really creative with TS lenses. Doing it with a f/1.4 lense sounds crazy ;-)
you doing great sir 😍🙌🏻
I love these POV videos. Interesting lens. Fun shots.

Thats the coolest thing about tilt shift lenses
Super interesting lens, I love it
That is such a weird lens hahaha, I love the effect it makes though! Really interesting
It's amazing Have nice day 👍
It's honestly ridiculous how many split diopter type shots you manage to take here. I've seen a lot of them in horror movies but I've never seen an actual lens that's able to do it. The portraits are amazing and inspirational. 👏🏿 Awesome video Pierre👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
I'm glad to see some of the same locations I shots in Downtown Chicago
Cool lenses when you figure out how to use them - which takes practice. You seem to get the hang of it half way through - liked the reflection photos. I've been using adapted m42 lenses on tilt and tile shift adapters for a little while now on my micro four thirds camera and have just bought a canon ts24 for my 6d. These lenses can be expensive because they need oversized glass to make the circle big enough to tilt which is why full frame manual lenses are great to adapt to crop sensor cameras. Its the shift function rather than the tilt function of a tilt/shift lens that is mostly used with architecture - it looks as if that lens only has the tilt function. Tilting the lens right and left lets you change the focal plane from parallel to the sensor up to angles where it's running at almost right angles to the sensor (depending on the lens itself) where a wedge of focus (narrow near the lens, fanning out the further away) can go from the camera all the way out. The more you tilt the lens the more extreme the shift of the focus plane is - a small tilt can make a greater change in the angle of the plane Using the focus ring would then move the wedge across the image (as opposed to forward and backwards in the scene) and the aperture/depth of field will control the width of the wedge. This means that at the extreme tilt to the left, for example, infinity focus is on the left hand side of the scene with close focus on the right hand side. Depending on the lens you might only be able to march the wedge halfway across the scene and have to rotate the lens if you want to do the other half. I think that this issue is more to do with the lens part and is more related to lens adapted using tilt shift adapters. Tilting the lens downwards to it's extreme can move the focus plane so that everything along the road if in focus, but depending on the wedge peoples feet might be in focus but their knees might be out of focus. Lesser tilts can be focused to isolate peoples faces fo that the rest of them i out of focus, etc. Tilting up leaves a thin focus wedge that can be used to make the toytown effect when used from an elevated position looking down. With practice you'll be able to have it isolate the train only, have everyone on one side of the street in focus with the other side of the street out of focus, have two people at different distances on either side of the street in focus but everyone else blurred, the list goes on. Yes, you can get somewhat similar effects with filters for some of the shots - but they apply blur to achieve it and don't take the distance to the objects into account - those early shots of the cinema where the bokeh on the lights had different sizes, I don't think a filter could achieve that

Thank you for this great breakdown of a tilt/shift lens. I really appreciate it!
that's how Pierre is reacting when he have a new toy between his hands! 😂
I've been looking at the Astrhori 50mm 1.4 E-mount. Tilt-shift has been on my list for a while of things to try.
Photography is literally his exercise! 😂
It's great fun!!
Hello Pierre , tu as eu le feu vert de TTArtisan pour la publication? J’ai teste cette optique il y a un mois mais ils m’ont demandé d’attendre l’annonce officielle pour publier mon test
What do you think about Xperia 1 lll Is it worth now..
Do you shoot ultra wide on your gopro?
Pierre!!! Pls, where can We buy this lens?? We cant find it
Je me tâte vraiment. Niveau créatif ça à l’air excellent ! Niveau qualité photo ca à un bon rendu ?? Ou c’est + un « jouet » ??
If I use software to blur out the image and then use a brush tool to make a stroke to unblur that part of the image, it will looks the same isn't it? But can it still be use like typical 50mm F1.4 and has tilt shift function when you want to?
Is this like the Lensbaby lenses?

It's an old trick, the effect was created with twisting bellows and shifting the plane of focus on big format cameras, so the effect in post was created after the real thing.

It really felt like you had no idea what you were doing.

Judging by the way the photographer was handling this lens, presumably it was the disposable version?
I’m having a hard time understanding the use for a lens like this

Tilt-shift lenses are great for architectural photography without the amount of distortion from traditional wide angle lenses.

Dafür sind 50mm zu wenig Blickwinkel um noch zu verstellen
What the lens is providing, we can achieve that in post editing (easily)

What's the purpose of this lens...? So weird.
Used for years for architectural shooting. Canon made the best…
Just make sure you loosen the lens and slam it back and forth rapidly as hard as you can. 🙄 Your 'lens dealer' friend had to be cringing the entire time.

I feel rather sorry for the mug who bought that lens after it had been returned to Amazon or wherever.
cringe when this guy moves like crazy the tilt shift lens again and again.. and again like... dude chill is not your lens
WAY too jokey.
Disappointed by the click-bait type of the title. Tilt/Shift lenses have been around for ages - or did you not know?
running around with an open sensor is killingme
