Meh, I don't see this changing anything, you Delete 1 NEW Case and gets to play with the Skin for 7days, Its more of a test the skin, but that already exist on Public server.. I don't get Why this even exist.. Who would pay 1 Case+key every 7 days, thats just R-tarded.

@@Gurupimp10 a lot of people. Games like league of legends that are literally free have so many players that buy every skin as soon as they drop. Some of them run like $100 to buy without doing battlepass coins etc. If they had a 'rent the skin collection' they'd have even more people paying money to wear a skin for a free game. Those people who dont care about trading or value of a skin and just want a cosmetic thing will be the demographic. It's not the same demo as collectors traders etc, but it does remove cases stuck in inventories of people who would never open them or sell them and add cash to valve's pockets.

S1mple has never been a bright intellect ever. The update clearly reads the renting feature only concerns the kilowatt case and without the knives. Like you can be a great cs player and not be able to lace your shoes, S1mple is the perfect example his IQ barely hits 82.

Never underestimate Valve's ability to fuck things up! My Gamma Doppler Bayonet is blue now and my P2 Karambit looks like a Black Pearl. It seems like they just can't get those lights to work right lmao!

There's a flipside to this that, while very small, doesn't seem to be talked about. When renting the skins, the case is consumed and no skins are generated, nothing. No ST, no knives, no low floats, no high floats. Could this not miniscule-y and eventually drive up the price of the rented case? Since it will take more cases to generate skins? Not only the price of the case, but then the price of Stat Track skins, the Kukuris, and low/high floats? E: Ah, yeah. I posted this at 2 minutes into the vid.

I'm prob $1000 into cases over the course of 6 years and have never hit a gold

As a season players who plays for 1-2 weeks and then dips, renting seems pretty cool!

I'm guessing there will only be one rentable case at a time, that being the most recent case. I think when the next case comes the kilowatt case won't be rentable anymore bu the new case will be.

They did the rental to consume the stock of case being farmed like never before by armies of bots, this is Valve's true target.

There are two impacts on the market: - Deflationary: Rented Skins / cases are completely "gone", out of the economy after experied - Inflationary: "Everybody" can have this nice looking AK now + less cases gonna be opened MAYBE (+ Deflationary impact on Sticker market, nice)

One point that no one has picked up on is that this may incentivize people with weapon skins to modify them by adding a sticker (or getting the stat-trak version), so that they are visibly seen as non-renting weapon skins, whereas if you leave your skin unblemished, you run the risk of players calling that out: "poor renter boi" or something.

It would make sense that Valve would prevent us from renting multiple cases at the same time. This is definitely a way to get people way more addicted to skins, they will have to keep buying rentable cases and consuming 1 every week to keep their favourite case's skins, not to mention these are just the base skins, without stattraks or any sort of ability to sticker them which is literally the other 50% of the hobby, this is a W move

I think theres a huge deal with the renting that you missed, most people get bored of their skins after a week, being able to rent a new set of skins every week for $2.50 will make owning one specific skin less enticing. I wonder if this rental is going to be limited, for example, allowing you to only rent one collection once. Or a cooldown. So that you can't actually be renting skins continuously, you only can do it to try out the skins.

I see this as a test. They'll eventually use this as a system to advertise new skins in the future. New case drops? For the next month you can rent the skins for $2.50 a week.

I understand it if its just the latest case, not every case following the killowat case and its kind of a rotation otherwise will have a long lasting effect in the economy if any skin released after this update.

Case unboxers can now also better inspect the new skins and or play with them ingame even if they don't manage to unbox them.

casuals will probably just rent the new case one time then never again, while not even bother to open cases anymore. I would probably just say: "meh, ill just wait for the next case to drop and rent those next time too"

This is a actually creating more scarcity and inflating skin pricing if they bam China skin farms. So rare skins and floats will just go up in price, especially knives and gloves.

Alternative title: Now players can rent entire case weapons $0.35/day

The thing is that the case disappear after the rental so the price of the case itself is not exempted from stonking.

Might actually be good for skins cause you lose supply of cases but you also lose supply of skins, so skins would be more scarce

In order to stay relavent, giving consumers options on what to buy is an option. Remember Valve attracts more buyers with guaranteed purchases.

Also, now cases can be consumed without generating a new item, great solution for long term skin inflation.

Overall, if cases that are limited time like operations drop with this functionality this is huge for people who invest in cases.

as i think renting is just to make people who feel uncomfortable to spend 2 euro for a random item (which is probably going to worth like five cents) spend those 2 euro each week and imagine how many people like that are out there +few mils each week i guess
