INSANE Bucktail and Gulp Bite! Best Fishing in 40 Years!

Спорт

I'll remember this trip on my death bed! A Bucktail and Gulp was so effective I couldn't get it to the bottom at times. Sea Trout (Weakfish) Fishing has been tough for decades, but has improved steadily in recent years. Judging by this and other trips I've made in the last week, they are back big time!

John, I agree this is a very special event and shows this species is clearly making a comeback. I'm on the Western end and have only caught one Weakfish in my entire lifetime. If there's one person who deserves to experience this, it was you.

I caught one of these guys 2 days ago over in center Moriches. I thought it was a striped bass until I showed a pic to a friends dad who said it’s a weakfish. Very interesting, thanks so much for all the content as a new saltwater fisherman it’s life changing info. Also the weakfish weighed just over 2lbs so he put up a great fight. Nice to know I caught a fish who hasn’t been around in a while

Good to see you catching all those weaks. Back in the 80s off of Mount Sinai pier at Ralphs at 3:00 am late one October my friend pulled in a 17.5 lb Weakfish using a bunker chunk on the bottom. We didnt know what it was at first that fish lived for one hour out of water really something .I pulled in three bluefish 15-18lbs at the same time on top with snagging live bunker during teh frenzy. It was a once in a lifetime experience at that time we didnt know it . I think 18lbs was IGFA at that time. RIP my old friend and fishing buddy Gary Kazectow. 1957- 2001.

Mostly Blue fish and Stripers but once in a while we'd catch a Squeteague and they were pretty good size ones.
