Insane Airless Tires

Ғылым және технология

I bet you've seen some of that videos with tubeless/airless tyre demonstration. How about to build one with your hands ? Cheap and simple, Using onle pvc pipes, bolts nut ands to fit all together. This construction still needs to be modified. But in general, it's fully working concept.

If you had kept the whole tire instead of cutting it down, couldn't you have then just put holes in the side, stitched the rubber and thus not even need the glue? I mean, as you use the tire, hitting rocks, going off curbs, the glue is bound to release, but stitching the tire using the sides that were cut out (not cut them out of course) and you would have better stability and potentially less slippage.

Or could have just pumped some air into regular rubber tires to get a more comfortable ride. lol Also durability is a big question mark, as PVC is not designed for lots of bending, it tends to crack. If you hit a curb hard enough, it will shatter. Great for a fun project, but probably not really practical.

I was thinking kind of the same thing... "but he can't jump with it, or can he?"... but i think PVC pipe (being circular) is quite strong, and having many circles distributes the force quite a bit. Harder ride, though... as the pipe circles transmit this force largely undampened, it could be too much stress on other components.
