Inquisitive Orcas In Shallow Water - Norway

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

A large orca bull coming in for a very close look. As a reference for size, the dorsal fin on this male would have been almost 1.8m (6ft)... Want to join me this season? 👉arctic-freediving.com/

😍Beautiful! Absolutely beautiful! This would be the reason for me to visit Norway. That, and seeing Keiko's grave.

What beautiful images, thank you. I enjoy learning about orcas and used to dive, alas never had the good fortune you encountered. Recently learned about male tail fins are curved downward, so stylish with their impressive dorsal fins. Your lovely video reminded me of a nice cover article in Smithsonian magazine called “Ode to an Orca”. Aahhhh, so nice

Keiko, the orca in Free Willy, actually swam to Norway with his own pod after permanently leaving his sea pen in Iceland. He hooked back up with a group of orcas which could only had been his family, as he chose to swim off only with them. They followed the herring migration to where they go to breed, where Keiko was discovered both to be well fed, in great condition, and displayed psychical signs of attempted mating❤.

So u gave us the measurement of the fin instead of the depth of the water? Brilliant genius

Considering what SeaWorld has done to them, I would NOT be surprised if they started to.😮

Dangerous practice, swimming with such creatures is like, having a picnic in Alaska with a Kodiak bear!!! Dangerous!!!
