Great vid! I wonder if a 3 pin phase wire connector on the hub would have been a better design choice for ease of maintenance.

The only issue with this is the amount of phase currents that go to the motor. I feel that this is a hurdle that they will have to solve at some point.

Oh also I forgot to say. My experiance with the V13 has been unlucky to say the least. My problems began, firstly. A Hall sensor 1 fault: accidently pinched new motor bolt: exposed wire: CNC Contact Spray: Liquid Tape: Electric Tape: Reassembled = issue fixed Phase wire bolt green burnt: broke & sheared: drilled it out with a 5/32: tapped with a 4mm: CNC contact spray cleaned: applied ASI 388 Electronic Grade Silicone; for holes: threads: bolt head: reassembled = issue fixed. Then my air suspension tube stopped working. Bought a custom L angle piece: measured out to size and shape: waiting for it to dry from spray paint. I'll leave as a non-suspension. I don't wanna deal. I'm tired 😭

{another tl;dr comment… This may seem harsh but it’s offered in kindness.} Love the details but I’ve got to admit that I cringe every time a screw, bolt or nut is blindly-driven into either a tapped hole or previously threaded hole. ALL screw fasteners should be set by HAND 🖐, then driven if needed; and the only exception is when driving a wood-screw into a VIRGIN hole at the factory. Otherwise, every fastener should be hand-threaded to ensure the integrity of the connection without cross-threading. The proper method for setting a screw/bolt/nut by hand (or hand tool) is to counter-rotate (lefty-loosey) with light pressure so that you can feel the thread rising outward until the gap is felt when the thread skips to the next groove… only then should it be hand tightened (righty-tightey) for at least one or two full revolutions before machine-driving the rest of the way (with a torque-limited driver). I know this is pedantic and acknowledge that almost NOBODY wants this advice, because it “seems” like extra work but over the course of a lifetime (yours or any item’s life) this ounce of prevention is truly worth the several pounds of cure, which will be needed to repair mis-threaded fasteners. Just look at the fiasco the U-Stride encountered with his V-13 loaner… weeks of downtime and it’s not likely that most riders can afford the minimum charge that most mechanics will charge to repair anything. In fact, when I assess mechanics that I occasionally hire, I watch them to see how they reassemble their work and, if they don’t hand-set their screws/bolt/nuts, then I promptly leave and find a well-trained professional. {Now, I’m not saying that you’re doing it wrong, just saying that it’s never worth the time or risk of having to repair mishaps over the course of a lifetime. You do you, and I’ll do it me… but if my mechanic ever screws me like that, then they had better at least have the courtesy to give me the “reach-around”. 😅 That said, I also cringe when watching factory assembly videos, as it’s clear that many of their procedures are inadequate for the task of good quality control, which is why I completely disassemble all my wheels and reassemble to my own specifications. 😊 If you’ve ever wondered why auto technicians/ mechanics are mostly angry at the world, I’d say that 95% of the attitude comes from the dread of having to fix other mechanic’s or engineer’s mistakes. 😮 Of you’re looking to save time and money, the laziest solution is almost always to do it (as best as possible) the first time. ❤

I 100% agree with you. I have used impact drivers for many many years. Also what you don't see, is a couple things that would be good for me to mention in my next video. 1) On very sensitive items, I do mention how you want to be extra careful due to the probability of cross threading 2) When I'm using the tool, I don't ever fully pull the trigger. During the initial setting, I'm making sure that I'm as perpendicular as I can see - and a slight touch of the trigger to start the screwing process. If I feel any resistance I back off immediately. Once it is more than a couple turns in, then I pull the trigger to speed it up. I do this for every screw to prevent cross threading.

It's actually really good that you mention this. I'll make sure to mention it in my next video. Also, in the first couple videos - that's also why the recommended tools are all hand tools. Maybe I should go back to hand tool recommendations.

@@2cells1pack Glad to hear, and thanks for receiving my opinion kindly. I literally have only initiated threads by hand-only for the past 30+ years and it’s been habitual for all that time, it gets to the point where I think I couldn’t do it otherwise if I wanted to… especially fine-threads or wood screws. It only takes a dozen or so hard-fast rules and I’ve saved hundreds of hours over time. Please consider doing maybe 5-10% of your longer formal videos as “Throwback Deep Dives”, which could highlight a long-standing model, the evolution and changes in each Version and common problems/repairs/upgrades (both factory and aftermarket). The view-count potential for archival repair videos of high quality would basically give you a monopoly on this niche-market but should be as valid content for 20 years or more. Stories and interviews of technicians are also fascinating. From toy-phase through mass-market adoption, the EUC history is fascinating, especially the intellectual property debacle that initially discarded the potential of EUCs by abnegation of enforcement of licensing patent rights. It turns out that Venture Capital firms were so enamored with the rental scooter market that they lost billions of Dollars so far. {I haven’t done a deep-dive myself but the missed opportunities from a decade ago are legendary. And, while the EUC makers we currently have were benefited from Wall Street’s/Silicon Valley’s VC misfortune, those same financial institutions haven’t learned from their mistakes so that funding for the manufacturer’s is still limited to organic growth business strategies, which both protects the EUC industry in the short term but makes these companies the targets of predatory speculators after market penetration matures. As far as I’m concerned, this drama is far more interesting than Imagined. Lastly, when thinking about how the present your message/brand, consider that (eventually) your content will be “binge-able”… planning for this to flow with continuity is best premeditated and iterated continuously over the lifetime of your channel. Your partner has a nature intuition for timing and appears to be thoughtful and deliberate. These attributes are tactically strong and complementary with your personality and performance. Synergy happens!

Thanks for taking the time to write such an information dense comment & reply. I will definitely mention best practices in my next video -> sometimes I take things for granted and its always a good breath of fresh air when someone points these things out. What do you mean by Throwback Deep Dive? Do you mean do teardowns of older wheels? Also, I might need to pick your brain regarding that last paragraph, I read it a couple times - but not too certain on its true meaning.

@@2cells1pack Yes, tear down older models and explain the evolution of problems that occurred in first revisions until product becomes stable or if there are still unaddressed issues that owners of particular wheels should pay attention to. Just to counterbalance the number of videos done that highlight new tech only.
