That's my boy!!! We are so freaking proud of you!!! mastic represent!!!! As one of his peers I can answer the "what would your peers say about you if you were here" question. Ian has always been down to earth and real. He truly was friends with everyone, including my outcast self lol. You could always count on him to be right besides you if you needed help and support. We didn't come from one of those rich white areas everyone sees on tv. Its easy to get led down the path of drugs and violence. What most people see in their heads when they think of long island is a myth created by tv and movies. The reality is a lot darker. And again I have to say I am so proud of you Ian for making it out not only alive but making it out and putting yourself out there to try and help others.

I got 5 years so rough alcohol and 6 years clean off drugs, I wish I could get on here and tell my story I was in the streets for 20 years did prison time for spitting on two cops who took me down to gravel road when I was hogtied and beat me up for 30 minutes I deserve 20 minutes of it but didn't deserve my nose broken in three spots, I was a meth addict for 8 years of that 20 years in the streets but I drink for 20 years everyday almost I have some crazy stories of staying up with no sleep for a lot of days I say the 33 days high on meth and yes you can I'm glad to be sober now and wouldn't change it for nothing in the world🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤

I wish we still had those days with our kids now. The dirt bikes and kickball, and so many other wholesome games in the yards and streets of our close neighbors. Drinking the water out of the hose lol. It gives me good feelings remembering those days.

In NY Prison system it doesn't work like that. Phones are segregated. You're not going to be able to use the phone because you had a fight. That phone will still be a claimed phone. By bloods, latinos, upstate, Brooklyn, muslims, etc. If you aren't given a slot you're going to have to take a phone or be a part of a group that has a phone. Some spots have a neutral phone too. If allnthe slots are taken on that phone you still have to take a slot. Maybe he's talkig about his long Island county jail. Not prison.

I don't think Ian went to prison for gang/drugs/violence Or anything like that. He could of had a totally different experience because he wasn't with that group. Unless you're in that type of shit or looking for it then it's easy to not know.

False knowledge is worse than ignorance, especially when it's used against someone. It's best to have all the facts and know what you are talking about before you condemn someone for something you really know nothing about. Facts are never hearsay or what someone says or what you heard from a person. Facts are what you actually see or witness. You may think you know everything, but you don't.

Superficial and judging a person by appearance, really? It's easy to judge. It's more difficult to understand. Understanding requires compassion, patience, and a willingness to believe that good hearts sometimes choose poor methods. Through judging, we separate. Through understanding, we grow!

Ignorance is really a state of unawareness. You rather make an assumption based on how a person presents rather than know who they really are. Makes it appear as you are trying to present as superior when reality is that it shows you are judgmental and present as an insecure person.

Such an ignorant and uneducated comment. People who trash talk usually don’t like themselves. So I’d look in the mirror and figure out why you are so triggered by him. If you listened to the story his charge was a violent charge for a loaded fire arm from a lifestyle choice he and has turned that into to a power to help others. The only tool here is you trolling KZread commenting on people you know nothing about. And fyi how does one “talk black”? Educate yourself and broaden your perspective. That’s growth you should try it.
