Awesome Tutorials, thanks a lot! Here is one tipp from me: To get a perfectly aligned 5-edged star, you can just draw it standing on one edge (using the control key) and then flip it vertically. That way you don't have to eyeball the alignment of the two bottom edges and it will be perfectly precise every time.
Nick, thank you so much for making these videos! You have a natural talent at describing quickly and concisely. You're the best man, thanks!
You're the best designer, Nick, greetings from Mexico !

Yr the bomb brother ! Yr way of teaching is very easy to follow man . Thank u !
Thank you! Much appreciated.
I love your videos!!! Thanks!!!
Thanks for the video. Always learn something. Here's something else: When exporting to PDF its helpful to tick the box convert text to paths. That way if you want to go back and make a change you don't have to recreate the block of text you need to change, its still a font instead of a path.

That's assuming you didn't convert the text to a path prior to exporting it...

nick, I love watching your videos... I am currently trying to do an invitation and have watercoloring effect. When I save it has a pdf to print it does not keep the watercolor effect. What can I do?
This is great, and so useful. Thank You, Nick! A quick question: When you say print-ready, does it mean that it doesnt matter if its not cmyk (since inkscape is rgb)? im on a windows, not linux pc.
@LogosByNick
7 жыл бұрын
Yes, depending on where you have it printed. Most large online print shops (like Vistaprint and Gotprint) do color conversions themselves and RGB files end up printing fine. I've printed many RGB documents with Vistaprint in the past and it always comes out great. Gotprint too. It's the smaller mom & pop print shops where you need to be careful about the color profiles.
awesome!!! how did you get the curve effect on the card for your thumbnail?
Nice
Thanks Nick! I just learned how to use inkscape :) can you upload a tutorial on how to make logos? Id appreciate it (y) keep up the good work

Hi Nick Thank you for another great video! Two questions: Don't you need to assign a CMYK profile in order to assure that printed colors would be the same as those seen on screen? After turning text to path (Object to Path), is there an option to go back to text?
@millergael7665

instablaster.
Hey Nick how are you getting the rectangle and square box you put over the document to stay in place do you have to combine them?
Can you print preview, prior to printing when using this software for ex after alterations are made to an image?
Thanks Nick. Hey question from 2023 here using Inkscape version 1.3. When saving as PDF there is a default recommended option for 'rounding compensation'. From the hover text explanation it sounds like something that's better to turn off, but yet it recommends it being used. Thoughts?
Nick pleeeeass make a video how to make a label for product I done a logo two tutorials I done , but we don’t know how to make back round etc for label I’ll try to do it with this but when I over lap my logo the square blocks it
my inkscape settings has been changed how to change my default settings when i draw any shape object then after i was select the object, selecting areas too long not only particular shape object. please give me suggestion what i do
thanx
thank you nick for another great tutorial. one question about tablets: would u use like a wacom intuos tablet for your work? i mean a lot of people who draw digitally have one, so i was asking myself what YOU would think about that and logo designs. thank you. 2. is there another way to buy your logo design kit then paypal?
@LogosByNick
7 жыл бұрын
I haven't tried a tablet yet, but if it made for a more efficient workflow I would definitely go for it. I was actually considering buying one a while back but forgot and it slipped my mind. I should probably look into again. I've seen designers using them on KZread. It looks like it's best for freehand drawing, which I don't do much of. As for the logo design kit, yeah I can accept other payment methods. Just send me an email: nick@logosbynick.com Thanks!
Hello, nice tutorial, I did a Business Card following every step, the problem I got its that when I save it as a PDF file the shapes in black disappear, and the BC shows wrong, what em I missing? thanx, I hope you could help me with my issue
do you make different propositions of a business card for a client like you do for logos ?
how to print it if there are two sides , back and Front for print wich tampelate do you use, Front site Logo back side the data
@LogosByNick
7 жыл бұрын
Just make two different designs. Upload one of them as the front, and the other as the back. They get uploaded as separate files.
sir some tools n ui is not perfect in my laptop what should i do...? i deleted and install then also same problem ? please tell
What about once finish how would i use the logo then for a website or as a profile pic ,avatar etc?
How did you create the drop shadow in the final PNG file? With Inkscape?
13:19 well, that's a neat trick to blow minds...
How do print shops align and cut the piece without the bleed line or a crop line/cut line? Is having a bleed margin applicable for customers printing at home? Like birthday cards and whatnot. Could I export to PNG first and then convert it to PDF, to keep the SVG file as is, without having to convert all text to paths? All this is confusing for a newbie 😆
how to create an interactive digital business card? Obrigado pleo vídeo!
Will the final PDF you created be in RGB? Will the printer not require CMYK?
HI Nick can you or anyone else give some me assistance with this issue I'm having please? I created a flyer in Inkscape at 8.5x11 transparent background I applied the crop, bleed and position to it. I saved it to both png & pdf when I opened the pdf version to print I am continously seeing this white background behind the entire flyer longer as well. I have exhausted all the options I know of. Advise needed ASAP THANKS.
'Would like to know how to make a portfolio/Magazine Layout with Inkscape. Do you have a tutorial or does someone know a good one? thank you:)
Hey Nick absolutely love your tutorials. Can I ask why in the beginning in the Align and Distribute menu you selected Relative to Page, what does this do differently than Last selected?
Hey do you have to convert it to cmyk first ?
What does "object to path" do? I'm new to vector graphics so I wonder what this function does and why you did it in your business card design.
@arsom5552
5 жыл бұрын
It convert the grometric objects like square and triangle to editable path. The geometric objects can be edited but limited.
Thanks for the nice Tutorial! But you didnt mention the problem with the CMYK Color problem while exporting the PDF File. Inkscapes uses RGB Colors by default, so the colors will appear differently after printing.

How can I solve this problem?
Nick how do you do a double sided business card?
@shater1164
4 жыл бұрын
Double side Business Card needs two(02) to four(04) slides/layers design AFAIK
Now that I think on it. Isn't there a way to make the canvas' background show the transparency? I mean instead of being white, appear with that Checkboard like background that the pngs use.
@LogosByNick
4 жыл бұрын
Yes, if you go to Document Properties (control + shift + d) there's a check box for it.
thanks, what' s the PDF app do you use
You can now set your bleed when saving the pdf file directly in inkscape :)
