Thalassorex actually means “Sea King” It isn’t called a rex because it’s related or similar in appearance to T. rex. It’s just for so it can have the “king” aspect in the name. In fact, there’s prolly a lot of organisms that can be shortened to T. rex in reallife!

the reason we called thalasrex that was due to the greek naming scheme we been going for. it means Ocean king, thala means ocean and rex is king

In your video whike you were curving that aquatic hybrid I heard you say that you were confused on why that aquatic hybrid was called “ThassoRex”, if you were wondering; Thasso means “Sea” and Rex is a Latin word that stands for “Ruler” or “King” so if you put its name together it means “Sea Ruler” or “Sea King”

idk where you got that but they are not inspired by monster hunter they are based on animals a mix of animals but they are based on hyper evolved animals

Design may not be inspired but when golugore first released the way a lot of its abilities described it it was like tigrex, its look around animation is also quite similar to the one tigrex uses in world when you fire a some slinger ammo at the ground when it hasn't noticed you. Could all be a total coincidence yeah, even so before I heard people say its mh inspired when I saw the look around emote I immediately thought of tigrex then saw all the mh comments and could understand where they were coming from lmao
