Injection Mould Instruction Video | Precious Plastic Maastricht

Ғылым және технология

Welcome to another Precious Plastic Maastricht instruction video! In this video Hannah will show you how to set up, use and clean the injection mould machine. This machine is used to process plastic into small objects, using a heated nozzle, a manually operated metal plunger, and a metal mould.
1. Equipment check 0:10
2. Visual inspection 1:00
3. Operation 1:40
4. Cleaning the machine 5:18
Our injection mould is based on the Precious Plastic Version 1 injection mould, and if you are interested in building one for yourself, you can see the instructions on the Precious Plastic website and KZread channel, which gives you a detailed overview of the building process.

It's so impressive!! I have a question though. How do you deal with the remaining plastic that you would get during cleaning?

Either we make a second pressing (if it's enough for another product). The cleaning process of the machine is not optimal yet... In the future we will collect the plastic residues to either shred them again, or if it is contaminated residue to dispose of them correctly.

But the plastic has shrinked in the mold. You also need to take into consideration the shrinkage and either change the plastic type, or alter the mold for shrinkage compensation.

These homemade injection plunger machines are extremely dangerous, please use care when operating or standing next to them during the fill operation. most don't have plastic guards around the nozzle areas and the heater bands are exposed.

So is a gas cooktop with a pot of boiling water on it but I think most of us accept the risk and know to just be careful around hot things.

@@android01978 Boiling water 212 degrees. Hot plastics melt between 300 and 700 degrees and will plastic stick to the skin and continues to burn, unlike hot water. Some people need to learn the hard way. Good luck!
