I moved from Houston to North Carolina (north of Charlotte) 20 years ago and have been so much happier with the weather and gardening. Houston was just too dang hot. Don’t leave the country- the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Lot’s of these places are turning in communist dictatorships.

I was just having this conversation with an individual last Wednesday. I told him I am considering leaving the country and going to a tropical one where I can grow my own food year around. As a matter of fact, I told him that I would go to the border and tell those who are coming in, “Good Luck to you, I am going to where you are coming from. You are rushing to get in. We are rushing to get out!”

This is a difficult time in our country with the government forcing many changes upon us. That and the inflation issue and it seems the governments are pushing ahead their agendas without concerns for the issues the common person is facing. We really need to see some changes in policies before it's too late.

Was browsing around YT, I found this channel Russian Code. There's a video "FULL INTERVIEW with Big American Family in Russia" that interviews a traditional Catholic family that decided to move to Russia, a country that's more religiously aligned with their beliefs. Video was interesting in detailing some of their reasons - health care costs was unbelievable. Thought you might be interested or perhaps add that to consideration since Russia isn't likely top of the list for most Americans, if you are still thinking about this topic.

Let's not forget that Healthcare is extremely expensive here and those other countries don't allow their citizens to be poisoned daily with chemicals in the food products. There are thousands of ingredients allowed in American food products that are banned in MANY other countries.

There are very few countries in which US citizens are viewed favorably now. And after the US destroys the currency and defaults on its debt, we will be hated universally. You may have a chance in the Philippines, but you would have to be concerned about China. I did all that research too. Wanted to go to Panama (Boquete) for all the same reasons. I'm hearing that there are already negative feelings for gringos in the local population for various reasons. I came to the conclusion that it is going to get a lot worse. Great topic! Interesting discussion. I subscribe to your channel because you are local to me, and we share some goals. If you ever want to collaborate, let me know.

I live in North Texas which has similar heat, but less humidity. Last summer was brutal. I let my kids have a competition on growing vegetables. 1st prize was $100. 2nd prize was $50. I had my wife weigh the vegetables and price the vegetables at where she would normally buy the product. Some vegetables were hard to price because they were simply not available organic. Surprisingly, we grew $150 worth of food. I lost money on water and supplies, but it was a good experience for the kids. One thing that helped is we would run the sprinkler during the day when it got really hot. This would help lower the ambient temperature. If we did not, we probably would not have had anything. I always found this channel inspirational. You have a clever way of doing work and being thoughtful about your goals. I thought that you were doing better than what you are saying. When I look back a few years ago, I was doing very well. Now I am just trying to hang on. The government is funding itself through inflation. It does not bother the rich because they can take advantage of everyone's desperation, but for the common man, it can make the difference between thriving and surviving. If you opt to move to another country, you will probably have to leave most things behind. You won't be able to sell what you have for what you paid for it. So it will probably feel like starting over again. Things will get much worse. If you opt to leave you should decide quickly. 2008 will be upon us all over again, but worse this time.

Pete, Another thing in the to the layout of your plants/property…. I would think that radical temperature variations have a lot to do with your success or failure. I have mentioned before that a single plant stuck in the middle of a piece of property will get mauled by the weather and not produce, live, etc…. Please consider wind breaks and temperature zones to combat the extreme variance in weather. Indian hawthorn makes a good small hedge, bougainvillea, make a larger hedge that feet can’t get through, etc… These other plants protect from wind, moderate temps, provide a moisture barrier…. You have worked so hard and you are sooo talented…. Try some of these ideas before you give up.

I truly believe there will come a time when videos such as your content will become invaluable and see an increase in traffic. On the topic of moving to another country, medical cost is vastly cheaper than in the US and overall quality of life is much better in many places. Using Mexico city and Puerto Vallarta as an example with expats moving in the locals are being priced out thus changing the cultural experiences and slowly recreating where they left.

On housing. Not only do you have to buy another house, you have to pay capital gains tax. My neighbor just sold their home and twelve acres. They had lived there twenty two years. They were shocked at how much they had to pay in capital gains tax. We live in Texas. It’s a small rural community. Yeah it’s hot. Electric bills are killing us. I’m still so happy we live in Texas. There is still not another country I’d even consider. We looked at Costa Rica years ago. Unfortunately China is taking over down there.

I am 65 years old and I invested in high tech stock like Microsoft, etc. 40 years ago then after 25 years of the same job working 60 hours a week for almost 20 years I got out because of injuries, from years on the job. I was lucky my father invested my over time money. I was in a good union and was able to collect from my union after leaving. That was it until I turned 62 then SS. But I was lucky my wife had a teaching degree in medicine. With all that I help my younger sister out each month. This inflation is eating up money I could give more to my sister. The only thing this inflation did for me is when I sold off 5 of my properties which I had owned for 20 years..

South America has a lot of problems, much worse than the US. There is a reason why all those people leaving those countries and coming here. The best way, is pick a good state, get a house with nice acreage far from big cities, and work your way up. Don't get involved in politics at all. Live your live, and don't watch news at all. Just care about your family, garden, animals. You will be just fine.

well -it's city people who moved from up north down to Smith Man Lake (nearby). paying 1/2 mil dollars for a $250,000.00. house-- I've seen it happen before my eyes-- now the smallest little house w 1/2 acre land is selling for 250.000--that's how that happened-- Student loans-- I remember when there we very few student loans--so the government got involved giving you any amount you wanted as a student loan and also began subsidizing colleges-- so colleges raised tuition over & over---that's why we have the student loan problem. My coworkers parents moved to Portugal a few years ago== living the good life--but guess what has happened--- same thing now they are complaining that people are moving in paying too much for housing and pushing the locals out--- so on it goes. Go ahead move to another country--remember I know people who live in other countries--they tell me---so go ahead but don't expect the US Constitution to follow you there!!! I know it's not perfect here. but it's the best deal going. And just be careful what you say until you know the facts---thx APRIL

We are getting taxed on everything now. I mow our little towns post office. It doesn’t pay much only $30.00 each week. It helps pay for my little subcompact tractor payment of $128.00 a month. The post office pays through PayPal and now I have to pay a taxes on the $1100.00 I make each year. I don’t have enough deductions to write off the gas and wear and tear so I am getting shafted. Also if people just sell a few things on eBay and get paid through PayPal they will have to pay taxes on things they paid tax on already even if they are losing money on what they are selling. Now they want to start this with Venmo. My wife ordered things for my kid’s through Sam’s club or Costco and my kid Venmo my wife the money. If they start taxing this we will have to pay taxes on this money. This is totally BS.

Thanks, Pete. I hear you, brother. I'm going to think about what you said here. 🤔 But I have questions. - @ 4:50 you talk about a guy who "can't put two words together". I assume you're referring to Trump. We voted him out. He's trying to interfere in the running of the country, but he's not an elected official. Let's keep it that way. - You talk about the Far Left. Who are you talking about? The Democratic Party in the United States is NOT on the left of the political scale. They are to the right of center. Americans on the actual Left currently hold no power in US government. What are you trying to say? I agree that the Far Right is dangerous and oppressive and must be stopped. - You mention "woke". I'd love to know what you mean by that. - Where do you get your understanding of inflation and its causes? The current inflation crisis (although it has been reducing steadily for the past few years.....and it still sucks) began during the pandemic of 2020, and has been maintained by corporate greed and the lack of restrictions on said corporations. This happens under Republican administrations, beginning (in our lifetimes) with the Reagan administration. It is now out of control. We need to rein that back in..... which will never happen under the Republican Party..... especially in its current state of MAGA chaos. I'd love to see them come up with some helpful ideas.....but they are currently in an internal state of mayhem. 🥴 - You mention taxes. Again, look towards the Republican tax cuts that were put in place by the Republican leadership. If wealthy individuals and corporations paid a fair tax, we would be in an economic utopia right now. .....and we'd have less crime. .....and less homelessness. .....and more options for people like you and me. - You mention weather. Do you mean climate? Or weather? There's a difference. Weather happens all the time. It varies throughout each year, as the earth completes its orbit around our star. Climate relies upon the delicate balance of our relationship with our star.🌞 Humans have been damaging the climate since the beginning of the industrial age. It needs to stop before it's too late. I appreciate you, Pete. I wish you the best regardless of where you choose to reside in future. We live in interesting times. 🇺🇸

Then leave. Get the F out. People who don’t love their country and aren’t willing to help just need to leave.

"I will fundamentally transform America." - Barack Hussein Obama Well, it took him until his third term, but he finally accomplished it. The thing about moving to another country, at least our God given rights are protected by the constitution. There are enough 2A supporters, The Man can't wholesale strip our rights. In another country, you are a foreigner with whatever rights they ALLOW you to have. Food for thought.

I’ve read the comments after listening to your video. I see and hear people complaining who have up to now enjoyed the glow of white American. The devils today are not hiding their true feelings. Slavery is and has always been the construct of this country and many others. It seems everybody is woke now. Most of us are hurting. God, guns and the same constitution that allowed slavery are not going to save this country or the world. Maybe one day the masses will embrace humanity.
