INFJ Explained | Why INFJs Have Trouble Reaching Their Potential
INFJ Life Coach Lesson: Today we're asking the question, why so many INFJs feel like they're not tapping into their potential and it has a lot to do with our extroverted functions. I'll get into it a little later, but the point is that nobody's really tapping into that potential, but INFJs specifically are keenly aware of it. And so since we're so aware of it, why aren't we taking the steps? Why aren't we doing the things that we know deep down we could be doing? We know, there's more to us. And so many keep suffering silently when there are actually steps you can take.

    Yep, I told my INFJ co worker this. She is doing something with her life. I have trouble believing in myself and like you said -- reality is incredibly imperfect and that can feel maddening, discouraging. But so is doing nothing at all. So we choose our hard; which is more meaningful? One of my goals is learning how have realistic yet ambitious expectations and creating a plan/calendar that I can actually stick to, including reward systems for my emotional being. Not creating a goals and calendars to tyrannize myself.

    We are very aware of how the others will react but this is also a problem. I simply can't do something because of what others will like, never, but on the other side I insert such a deep motivation in what I'm doing that leads to the other end - I do so much, but other people can't understand how can I be so integrated and passionste into the thing that I,m doing. I constantly want to improve myself, to show and to be more and more that makes the final product so complicated most of the times.

    I have work to do - in the friend - non-familial relationships. I will say - you expanded my mind on how the internet (like our INFJ community here) is also considered a social relationship. I lean into that for sure - where I am active in groups - follow people - that align with my personal interests - and I engage in a real way - This video is 100% - thank you!

    I love how deep you go with these subjects. Outer reality reflecting our inner reality, authenticity, Fe and Se etc. It is crystal clear that you have been through all of it yourself. There is no f***g way someone would hit the nail on the head with the infj struggels if they hadn't experienced them themselves. Your way of combining mbti, healing, self growth and kinda spiritual or meta perspectives (in my opinion) is so wholesome. You have helped me realise so much about myself. ❤ Your videos on anger and extraverted sensing were the biggest eye openers for me. I replayed them so many times that it's almost embarrassing 💜 but it changed everything from then on out. Thank you for putting this out there for us for free. I truly appreciate it 🙏

    I'm trying to, but I really dislike my job. They ignored me for a raise for over a year, and I'm not even on the list for getting a new work truck, and mine is a piece of crap. They don't care about me. So it's hard to want to give any extra effort to make a company more money, when they refuse to do the same for me. Other than that, in my personal life, I am trying to be very consistent in bettering myself. It's helped tremendously over the last 2 years. 👍🏻

    Why are you staying with this company? Of course if your effort doesn‘t get you further why would you put more effort into it.

    @@Wenzes I stayed because one of my life-long best friends worked there for over 11 years, and he got me the job when I really needed one, so I was trying to make sure I didn’t do anything to make him look bad for getting me hired. But he has since quit and works in a different city entirely. And my big boss is really nice, but he’s getting ready to retire, and our department head is a douche that sees us as numbers on a piece of paper, and not as people. Needless to say, we will be screwed once my big boss retires. So, since I really don’t have any loyalties with this company anymore, I’ve been looking for jobs in other places to 1) move somewhere I’ll be happier (new places, new people, new atmosphere), and 2) upgrade my income by working somewhere I’ll be appreciated for what I bring to the table. Right now just still looking for a new job. Just a matter of time. 👍🏼

    Thank you for bringing Fe into this, because focusing on Se alone hasn’t been enough for me to keep moving. I think with me I’m more afraid of being ignored than being judged. I want to see the value I bring to others, so when my efforts go unnoticed, I question the point of it all. I feel like I’m operating in a vacuum. And then I convince myself that no one will ever recognize my efforts. Which is inaccurate, of course, but I question myself when I get silence from everyone else.

  • @Wenzes

    @Wenzes

    I also get silence, for example when I post something on private page...people will only care if it benefits them...so do things that are just for you where you don‘t care about silence and also share your gift in a way that brings value to others...we are not an island...so helping others (through expression, art, work...whatever) will help you see the bigger picture...it is not about recognition, it‘s about saying...this is my world and I want to make it better 👍 you got this

    I did Landmark Education ~20 to 25 years ago, intro, intermediate and advanced. Landmark was the same educational program that inspired Tony Robbins. Landmark helped me to be more assertive (Fe and Se in my stack) and not my usual passive self (Ni and Ti loop), who just went along with everyone else. I did have a good sense of myself before I tried Landmark, and the training did help me, but I had issues with the Landmark push to extroversion. They awoke parts of myself that I buried or that felt uncomfortable. I will always be an INFJ. Finding the balance in our stack can be a daily challenge. We are only most comfortable and the most open to those who we have allowed in our tight and inner circle. An enigma to most, and at times, just as confusing to ourselves.

    Am I also sure, I'm not tapping into my potential yet ? I'm sure. I actually have gotten some more study material to get further certified in the automotive career field ( ASE ). I just haven't begun the organized study and testing process as of yet. Some other things have taken some priority over it lately, yet, I'm glad I have what I need to get started.

    Wow!! This spoke to me so much. Thanks. I've been in therapy for a year and this is a struggle of mine. In my last session I talked about lack of motivation for things I desire to do. She pointed out its Bc im a perfectionist. She suggested that I ask myself who my audience is? Who am I performing for? That I need to start and do a little of why I like to do each day and it'll be good enough. What you say resonates with me so much. So basically that I am my own audience and I do and want to do certain things/hobbies for me because I like them! Not for anyone else... ugh. Really thanks for this video

    I m very new to this infj things maybe a two or three month. When I try to tapping into my potential my past life just flash right into my mind and make me feel like miserable and I always trying to refocus my attention to not think about my past and let go but it always comes at me again and again and by doing this I waste so much time and I afraid if I m not gonna do that I will become like my past version of my self and due to this some time lose my belief on my self why this happens to me?

    Recognize what you have missed out on...don't run away from the main, accept it and accept you not having been able to "do better" so far...love yourself knowing that you are imperfectly perfect and then set out to take small steps that will improve your life in the future!
