Simon probably had one of the worst deaths. He had his soul sucked out, and all the while he was conscious, we was turning to dust. So he was feeling all sorts of pain. And because of how high his number was, it caused a gome to explode.

@@cielonighteye2776 It's fair to assume that these creatures once were something entirely different and were repurposed by the train to eliminate people with high numbers. It is possible that in this form they have the ability to regain their old body by draining a human, which would explain their insatiable drive to hunt them down. Simons number simply was so high and overloaded the ghom.

What exactly is good enough about this show for them to waste time on another chapter? It just seems like another show with the bullshit message of “everyone deserves a second chance no matter what they’ve done”. Like, the exchange at the end of the woman constantly saving the evil guy’s life only for him to try and end hers, but his attempts on her life don’t make her fucking learn that he’s never going to be good, and she cries when he dies...is the single stupidest thing I’ve ever seen in my entire goddamn life, I would rather watch the live action Avatar: the last air bender movie. I wish that guy ended up killing her to show her how stupid she was being, it makes me so goddamn angry.

Season 3 was on a whole other level, I can’t remember being so invested into a cartoon show season than when I was watching that one. I thought it was perfect. And the most emotional season for sure, a couple scenes making me cry honestly.

7:50 i like this moment because i feel like for just a moment he realized what he did and what he already has done. I only say this because of how the sparkle returns to his eye after pushing Grace off of the platform. The way he genuinely sobs for a moment when this sparkle returns is everything to me, and the way he returns to the crazed laughter soon after makes me think he did feel remorse, but he felt he was too far gone and couldn't do anything to change his fate.

Opening up with a cat getting absolutely demolished just told me the tone of the entire show 😀

Sometimes it just doesnn't make sense. CN are literally burning money by cancelling this. To be fair, the show can get VERY dark, it has the most serious topics I have ever seen in a "kids" show, but it was beloved by all who watched it. There is nothing wrong with making your target audience not toddlers.

@@Mediados Exactly! That darkness is what makes this show so great and relatable! The real world ain't all happy go lucky, EVERYONE has their struggles and that's why this show connects with so many people. I feel like everyone can relate to at least one of the characters and their problems. For me, season one and Tulip's situation really hit home and reeled me into what I didn't realize at the time would become my new favorite show! My parents separated when I was a very similar age and some of the things she said in her arguments felt like they were coming straight from my mouth. Never before have I seen a show or movie more accurately portray the frustrations of parental divorce on a developing teen better than Infinity Train! And that's why I love this show, it was my therapy!

@@Mediados I don't think you understand how networks work. CN was literally LOSING money with this show. That's why it got cancelled. They are in fact saving money by cancelling it. Animation takes a ton of money to make. Networks like CN don't make their money back by simply airing the show. They make it back by selling merchandise. This series was not something you could sell merch of because the target demographic was older so it's not like they could make their money back by selling toys. That's why CN is pulling the plug on cartoons meant for older kids and focusing on younger content. Because younger kids buy tons of toys and can easily be marketed to with cartoons. Always remember, a network is in it to make money. They don't spend millions on animation to make a show just for pure entertainment.

Simon’s Death was the treat we got for season 3 premiering on HBO Max. Like I have to wonder like as soon as they heard that it was airing there that they changed the script to this moment.

The show was always meant to be on HBO Max, I get the feeling Book 3 just so happened to have this death in it. It's most likely a coincidence.

It just hit me just how dark the conductor was to tulip during the first season...Like srsly, in tulip's eyes the conductor just killed her friends then proceeds to gaslight by stating logical reasoning to thinking that it's HER fault for them dying...man just cruel.

Fuck I forgot to include all of the dead people in line in "The Asto Queue Car" and most of the arms from The Docent in "The Art Gallery Car".

I know book 3 was all about them seeing what they are doing is wrong but even before the previous event's someone new would see them as monster

I think because of season 3 and season 2 was the main reason and the dark parts of the show that got it canceled Probly cause how everyone dies in such a bad way

Nah, Owen Dennis (The Show's Creator) said that Book 4 was intentionally written with a lighter tone and no on-screen deaths to be a bit of breather after the downer that was Book 3 and Book 5 would've gone right back to the dark stuff. But Warner Bros decided that they didn't want to pick it up after Book 4, so we're just in this rut.

I'm still angry about how hard this show got screwed over by cartoon network. It was only on HBO Max in the US for the longest time, got no reruns on cartoon network, and was barely promoted here. Then when they canceled it they blamed us for not watching it enough and talk some crap about how it was too dark for kids, only to turn around and green light a new Batman show that's going to be just as dark as the animated series, which is perfectly okay because it's Batman and people know batman. Meanwhile people would probably know Infinity Train too if they ever Drew attention to the fact that it existed to begin with.

Mmmmm reminds me of the time when Cartoon Network wasn't afraid to take the extra step by including the darkest and violent moments of the shows they were airing. Sad we don't see anything like that these days but it's great to se that Infinity Train was like ''Fuck it, this show isn't gonna be like the other ones on the channel. I think Mace's was the most gruesome to me due to the fact he gets his half body scrapped off via train wheel after he got his lower half cut-off

There were 6 deaths in Infinity Train, 5 of them being men, and the other being a butterfly. Golden Chainsaw for coolest kill goes to Simon. Real bad way to go out, but the man got supa sucked! Dull Machete for lamest kill will go the Butterfly Judge, because he just got dealt a super effective fire type move, but that hit was nice!

Simon's life was pretty sad, and the train only made it worse

I don't remember this show being so dark. Time to rewatch.

Atticus's "death" scene is so bizarre to me, cause that scene was already miserable before Atticus attacked the conductor, Tulip already thought all of her friends where dead, we where already low, and then Atticus shows up and it seems like he will save Tulip and they will run and everything will be fine, but NO, we just sink EVEN LOWER, Atticus gets SHOT and nothing goes right, it's just so grimm. Even though he doesn't actually die this scene is still so dark, i never saw a "kids show" do a scene so terrifying as this one

Well don't spoil it for yourselves, it was actually shooting for a teenaged to young adult audience as opposed to just kids, that combined with how dark it was and the fact that as it went on it was starring less and less kid main characters is what got it canceled.

It's a FANTASTIC show!! I highly recommend!!

For me Infinity Train, Helluva Boss, The Owl House, Villainous And Final Space were some of the few redeemable series of this era and sincerely i hope that they also have a lot of success in the future if not even more success than the success that they already have now

I was watching this serie and I never realized how brutal and explicit it is.

Every generation needs one dark adventure show, its a requirement. Something that has the hope and soft moments of other shows but also dark moments and real crushing loss. Trauma helps the kids grow ya know

I'm still surprised by how they got away with murder so many times

Didn't get to finish the entire series but I definitely think Simon got what he deserved...

One of the best yet darkest Cartoon Network shows ever right after over the garden wall

Death is used well in infinity train-those who treat it lightly or minimalize it are villains- monsters, while those who react with trauma, sadness, and the y'know, correct response, are people with proper moral cores- even the deaths of villains are treated with weight. The greatest villains are those who can look at some other group, decide that since they're not people, their deaths do not matter. Whether that be because they're magical denizens created by a magic train, mirror doppelgangers, clones, animals, or even alternate versions of people when you have a time machine, the greatest mark of morality is how we treat those who could be considered "disposable". Or a better way of putting it, is the right person to be king is a man who refuses to step on so much as an ant. Because, when he is king, sitting high atop a throne, his people will begin to look like ants.

Why do networks seem to hate this show?

a lot of reasons that are mostly really bigoted. the crew actually had to fight tooth and nail to even get jesse to be native american; cartoon network told them that he could be "anything but native american" but they kept fighting for it for months; they barely even got to mention in the show that he was native in the first place :/
