The big use case I've found for Maximus is that by finding a spot where he can't be shot by an anti-tag gun he's an effectively unremovable large chunk of points for zone control missions. He laughs at nearly any melee attack, better dodging than most tags helps a lot vs disposable templates, and the immunity(pos) means that it isn't possible to put him into a null state via hacking. So he can run around using his knockoff AP spitfire in active, and when it comes time to score points find somewhere to hole up and nearly guarantee your control over a zone. Most of my experience with him has been with OSS but I think the similarities to varuna (and the role being pretty faction agnostic) are enough that he can do the same here.

ok so basically I need to commit to painting my Libertos as Helots. Got it.

I’ve used Max a lot in Winterfor. I’ve found him to be an excellent striker T1, his CC is absolutely wonderful, and then I generally put him in suppressive fire on a flank and force bad issues. He’s a ton of fun.

When I saw that Maximus had Immunity POS I thought he was immune to pieces of shit, and I wondered how they could make a single model immune to the entirety of Bakunin.

Isn't the Invincible Army guidance: - Spend all your points on Zuyongs and Shang Ji with big guns and firewall tinbots and have trouble making 15 orders even with TacAware - Get hacked into oblivion anyway - Seethe - Go and buy some Hundun and a Blue Wolf and play White Banner instead ?

If you take the Cutter as Lt and deploy it using hidden deployment, do you then start the game in loss of Lt?

You will be in loss of Lt at the start of your first turn as your Lt is not on the board. Now there are ways around this. Like placing the cutter in a spot where it will have LoS to something by the end of the turn and revealing it with an aro if you are going second. But then you have the downsides of the cutter now being revealed and you might not even get the chance to aro depending on what your opponent does. Additionally, cutters are so expensive, similar to the sphinx in combined army, that even if you do hidden deploy it, your opponent is probably going to notice that about a 3rd of your list is missing. All of this combined just makes it so your are generally better off deploying the cutter in your deployment zone in a safe spot, it is already mim-6 and in a camouflage state, it’s going to be very safe anyways.

The bad thing about you releasing these Faction Focus videos so consistently recently is, that now I have about 5 new factions I want to get into. I will blame you if (when) my hobby spending triples.
