Having another pedal to solve the problem of having too many pedals might be the most guitar player solution I’ve ever seen

I was bored, so I tried to put this on in the background while I did other things, and I can honestly say that this is one of the most engaging interviews about tone that I have see on your channel! Great thoughts on both sides!

Yea it's weird that he's making boring non effects style pedals so interesting 🤔
I love watching Lee's face when people start talking tech specs and he has no idea whats going on
This dude is not only a genius pedal builder but also a genius visual designer. They look so intriguing and cool how can you not love them
@C33Fernandez

Totally agree. Some of the best and most interesting-looking pedals IMO.

Yes, I do like that about them. I’ve been thinking about how I miss pedals being looking physically unique. They used to all have their own style, now everyone puts a modded clone in an MXR style box, paints it unique and charges double what the original design costs. Starting to see more unique original pedals which is good.
hands down one of the best pedal demo's I've watched in a while. The sincerity and humility of the whole episode was spot on. 29 Pedals, you have a new customer because you literally touch on many issues I've been facing. I own 28 overdrives seeking all the wrong answers from them. Well done lads, great episode

Well said, absolutely agree.
Absolutely amazing pedal producer who is doing something no one else is doing. I mean I’m just astounded at the understanding and passion he has for his craft. This guy just performs out of a sense of excellence. On the track and mindset he has I can just tell he’s gonna make tools that will be used as classics for years.
Another fabulous conversation! This will be cork-sniffy for many, however the multitude of knowledge gems here are off the scale high. Thank you so much Team - wonderful stuff. P.S. delightful playing Mr Anderton!
What an interesting guy. I’ve looked at these a bunch of times but this guy and this demo really impressed me.
Great stuff! I hope Dan and Mick at TPS have a deep dive with Jesse and his pedals 🙂

I'd be curious about this too. Mick didn't seem to be a fan when they briefly demoed the EUNA in a video about buffers
I'd like to see this fella sitting with Wampler and/or Josh and geeking out on circuits.

That would be a fun watch
At first, I thought the Euna was something I'd never need. Then I decided to get it and that pedal is a must have. I seriously cannot unhear it. It also feels like it gives my amp a bit of a volume boost which I like due to the added sustain. I understand if people might call it useless, but trust me, this pedal is really adding a bit of magic.
Simply one of the best interviews y’all have ever done.
Great video! Jesse seems to be a very friendly dude and his pedals sound absolutely awesome. All the best for him
Great circuits, great sounds, perfect explanation. Love this dude. I have to have that JFET!

Buy any strymon since Volante, has jfet.
Been using a EUNA for over a year and I can’t stand playing without it. It’s a treat!
Could not be a more helpful kind guy (to me). Answers just about every question I've ever had.
Great episode and demo. The insights provided were very good. Love the expressions on Lees face when you find a great tone.
This is just awesome, thanks for showing! Jesse is just a genius thinking out of the box, that's what we need
This is amazing! Jesse is brilliant! His pedals are brilliant! I recently got the FLWR and am genuinely blown away. No overdrive even comes close. It's so inspiring and customizable, while still being so simple and minimal! I would honestly love to have a custom board built by him if ever I were an important musician. It's so cool to see someone approach pedals and pedalboard from a holistic utility standpoint rather than just say: hmm I want to make a delay pedal now because it will sell. Anyway, I think if Jesse keeps going at this rate he will stand up there with the likes of Pete Cornish. And I don't say that lightly. Bravo!
LOVE this interview & demo! What a guy, I was hooked before he’d even started showing us what the pedals do.
Love these conversations since you actually learn how tone happens.
Very interesting interview and demo. I have never heard of 29 pedals before and I liked what I heard. Thanks.
Most of this was lost on me and my katana, but god, that last pedal sounded so sweet 🤯 great interview, top guy 👍
This demo has me thinking about what I had never really thought about to improve my sound. Now I feel like I can't live without these. [EDIT] BOOM!!! Ordered the EUNA.
What a phenomenal episode!
Fantastic discussion. Going to need to check these out.
Euna was pretty much the best pedal I bought in 2022. I also want a compressor from 29 Pedals.
Ive been on the fence on a couple of these. I just placed my order while watching this. The oamp and flwr sound amazing
Darn...dammit....you are killing me ... More stuff i cannot live without it seems . Bravo 29 Pedals for your unique perspective and bringing something special to the head scratchers like me who just need a little tweak here or there but have no idea where or have exhausted all other options.well done. Thx Captain Lee for emphasizing the value of great new companies who humbly develop useful gear (that life cannot be lived without).🙏💞👍👌
RC Booster does this for me. Makes every amp sound better. These are very cook and I am digging!
I got the Euna last year. It's truly my only 'always on' pedal.
What a great video, and a really cool guy! Best video in a long time.
The only pedal I have that it’s never missing in any pedalboard configuration I may use, Jesse is great to deal with also!
Big up Jesse. Great sounding pedals
Thought about buying a 29 Pedals EUNA last winter, but got side tracked by other things. But, this video has rekindled my interest. Now I have to find one for the board.
This is so nerdy and I love it
That guy realy knows his craft. Would have been interesting to hear Pete (or someone who did more recording than the Captain) do the interviewing.
It’s definitely a pedal that makes your sound $260 better than it did prior to the purchase. The real value is the numerous problems it addresses. Brilliant idea. I gotta get one
I love 29 Pedals. They do make a serious improvement to your sound. You have to try them. I run a lot of effects, with quality buffers and EQs, and when I tried these pedals my sound became so much better and brought back sound I had no idea I had lost. They are subtle, but absolutely will make you never want to turn them off.
fascinating info!!!! Good tones!!!
Very cool video I didn't think I was going to like it but I actually liked it a lot! It seems that his pedals, they either keep everything right where you want it or they give you that extra bit of something that you're lacking? If that makes any sense. It's kind of like they do both things, meaning they do everything they need to do and they don't do anything more than they don't need to do. Really a cool concept and I bet in person they would be a quick seller. One of your best videos! You are a great interviewer and pedal demoer....
The DOD FX10 BI-FET is my fave pedal for my bass rig and I’m looking forward to checking out that 29 Pedals FET pedal when it comes out.
that was an education --- amazing --- thx
That Oamp pedal was amazing 👍
I have a EUNA at the front end of my pedal chain. It’s an always on dead simple pedal that polishes your tone in the best way.
That was a particularly interesting interview with a very insightful Pedal Designer. There was a weird "ducking" thing that happened occasionally with the mic/mics that sometimes made it difficult to compare the tones when the units and the vocal mics were switched on and off. 🤷♀ Never heard that issue before on your videos.
47:47 that face is priceless xD
I am no longer curmudgeon after watching this video 😂 Well done Jesse, your pedals sound great and are so much fun. And thanks Andertons for making such a great video.
More FLWR, that was awsome. I gotta have one now.
Lee seemed skeptical the whole time haha These pedals seem very interesting. Looking forward to trying them out.

Lol, Lee's skepticism is not nearly at the level that it is when there's a digital multieffects unit in the room with him! 👀

Did you watch the whole video? He was truly skeptical in first half.... then he flipped and seemed in love with the pedals in second half of the video.
Don’t let 1988 Paul Reed Smith see this pedal. It’s in exact opposition to the ‘sweet switch’ on my ‘89 Custom! 😅
Hi Captain, you should have had a short lead direct to the Friedman as well for comparison between long , short leads and the assistance from the Euna. Great vid, shows theres a lot we dont consider in a long signal chain.. Cheers Greg
You can get that sustain sound with an EH Crayon, at low volume. It's something about the eq section. You need to play about with the 2 eq controls until you get the sweet spot. Then have it on 10 on the guitar volume, and back off to 7 (ish) to stop it. It sounds a lot like this Jack Pearson clip kzread.info/dash/bejne/h6eYtbWNepDOXZs.html where I got the idea. I tried a few tubescreamer pedals, but the Crayon did it at the lowest volume. JP is also using a Bullet Squire, which I used too.
HUGE fan of what 29 Pedals and Believable Audio! Great people creating amazing tools! I feel like I need that JFET !!! ... I mean
Love the EUNA but the OAMP is super noisy on my board. What might I be doing wrong? I'm running it last into a Two Rock amp.
Question. How does the Euna compare to the BBE Sonic Stomp? I have one and is it worth getting the Euna? love the BBE.
1.) If this guy was as enamoured with space-travel as he is with tone, the Vulcans would have contacted us by now. 2.) The reason they kept him moving microphones and doing FOH is so they wouldn't lose their jobs to a smarter person.
I think in some parts here we could get to hear one thing: we need some room mics for these videos! very interesting to hear an "in the room" type sound as well.
would you put the oamp after my Ampeg SCR-DI
I've been using the EUNA for a while now. It makes my rig sound so good without having to spend and extra $700 on a loop switcher.
What's the 'single jfet in a box pedal' he was talking about??
Dual showman, Princeton, super reverb, or super 6? Which one and why? Help me choose. My favorite amp I've owned was a magnatone m14 but it's deteriorated into pieces
Bought the euna from andertons and it’s Great
Had a Aphex Xiter many moons ago that gave the rig that certain something that you missed when it was out of the signal... Could be this EUNA may be the answer to getting that back?😉👍
I try not to get too caught up in tone chasing because I honestly think it detracts from just playing guitar- creativity and execution are what I try to really concentrate on. Or you could say note selection and technique- it's the same thing. The simplest way to put it- trying to play what I hear in my head- exactly as I hear it. If I can do that, I'm in the zone, connected, whatever you want to call it- and I really enjoy it. That said- I usually can't play it as I hear it, which gives me plenty to work on. And when I need a break- I turn on some Floyd and play along with Gilmour- no shame in covering a legend. Being able to play the solos that caught my attention as a kid and made me want to play guitar is intensely satisfying. Shows me how little I understood about playing though- I thought back then if I could play that stuff- I would be a monster player and everyone would want me in their band. LOL- Imagine that.
I'm on Jesse's team...for life.
You can hear the bad tuning perfectly! Seriously though the sound is great and bass players have used this kind of buffer/pre for years
I like that he calls it Wamp but is fine with others calling it Oamp. What a nice guy. Not like that jif guy
FLWR niiiiiiice!
Hard to do something really new and different, but Jesse's doing it.
Great video. There was one person on the video who appears to be possibly out of their depth when the discussion got technical…….!!
the boost was the winner here
Rabea Massaad uses the OAMP. That's pretty much enough for me :D
@nomnom112
10 ай бұрын
He'll use whatever you pay him to use
The FLWR does it for me
That’s a smart man right there
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t a good EQ pedal and a clean boost pedal do all of this?
@_caseyjames
Жыл бұрын
I'd have to see his actual circuit but yes - if the boost has a buffer, which many do. Be careful out there, so much snake oil in the world of guitar
@mijaelmaratuech5688
23 күн бұрын
i think to an extent and for most ears yes. the signal to noise ratio would be significantly higher though. i don't think this is 'snake oil' as the other reply said, because the maker is really forthcoming about this being a hi-fi thing. it's to juice out the most of your signal. people in the 'hi-fi music listening' community do this all the time, and for most people it is overkill, but if it matters to you it's quite real!
I thought 29 was the number of pedals to be reviewed in this video
Jesse, with detail, eloquence and precision, elucidates the function of 29 pedals. The Captain: "Okay, cool." 😂😂😂 BTW, I would respond in exactly the same way. 😂😂😂
We're into Randy California (Spirit) territory!!
I can understand these being low volume products and as such cost more than a lot of pedals, but at £300 each - that's too high a price for a pedal with a single function.
a wee boost/drive after the reverb. makes a lot of sense.
JFET was great!
I don’t know, sounds like a simple Eq box to me, with kind of a bright boost.
infinite Sustain?! wow.
That sustain is CRAZY.
I'd like to know how Jesse feels about tone wood of electric guitars
That guy reminds me a bit of Dan from TPS. So into it explaining everything in a very appealing manner. Very enjoyable. I might want to check out the flwr 😅
I really like the FLWR. I may need another OD, my wife is going to be pissed...lol
Could someone describe how this pedal is worth like $ 250 dollars more than the IK Multimedia Z-Tone buffer boost? Both seem to do the same thing.
@clos87
Жыл бұрын
If you have to ask then this pedal is not for you.
@tah5w
Жыл бұрын
@@clos87 The functions included are variable impedance, boost, and a little eq. in both pedals. Perhaps the sustaining one is in a different league but having tried the others and compared A/B, my experience tells me that the capabilities are pretty much the same and certainly in my opinion doesn't justify the price. I'm guessing John Mayer fan boy tax is built in.
This would have been good on the podcast
This is going much tooooooo far "infinite sustain" is just horrible: - you play one chord the whole gig - guitar still makes noise when in the gigbag or case - you can't sleep any more because of all the noisy sustain in your flat - you need to be hospitalized in the end
Now make them smaller lol. They look like a sideways channel strip
Captain just went to Gary Moore with that note
I hope he visits the pedal show !
He maybe a genius and I am sure his pedals are used by the pros for a good reason. I head the difference , but I also heard a out of tune guitar ruining the experience .
petes tele?!
@lancecluster
Жыл бұрын
Looks like it to me, I was looking through the comments for someone to confirm it. Guess I am not alone in wondering. Pete's purple tele makes everything sound great.
I thought fk Here goes greedy Andertons again. 😮 Another fkn useless pedal demo.But I was wrong, That Green boost is sensational sounding. Good luck to Mr 29. Who doesn’t love a nice cardigan.
40:57
TUNE THE GUITAR :)
I hate you Andertons! Now I need four new pedals 🤪.
