UPDATE: When I wrote/published this review the trophies weren't live so I asked Maze Theory for a trophy list. The list they sent me didn't include a platinum. BUT THERE IS A PLATINUM. My apologies for the misinformation in this review. Fortunately this doesn't affect my final thoughts or score in any way.
VR developers: There are people, who don’t t play games if they don’t have smooth locomotion and smooth turning options.

I used teleport for a very short period while acclimating. I used snap turning for a long time, because it took a long time for me to acclimate to smooth turning. It would always send a huge wave of nausea straight to my brain, that first smooth turn that I experienced without inner ear cues. Now I am what I would consider fully acclimated to VR. I don't get sick any more, but I also have figured out several little tips and tricks along the way. But yeah, snap turning is very helpful for those who need it. But developers really need to provide the full range of player experience options if they want a successful game. Some gamers will need snap turning or teleporting. Then there are those who are fully acclimated and want smooth motion and smooth turning. To leave anyone out is alienating gamers, something a developer will typically want to avoid.

I literally refuse to
I have nothing against snap turning or teleporting -- I think they're good as defaults for non-twitch games as they open VR to individuals that get easily sick. But I despise when this is the only option -- please include smooth locomotion!!
Thanks for review😊
I'll wait for Wanderer to give me the puzzles and more importantly, the adventure. Thanks for the review.
This has been on my wishlist since it was announced. It looked pretty cool. Won't be getting it anytime soon unless it goes on sale for $5.
I still kinda want to play it. I like the aesthetic. I’m definitely not going to pay for something I know has bugs though, so I’ll wait to hear the teleporting is fixed, at least.

This game was 100% built to be played with Mixed Reality so I highly recommend you only play it on a quest pro or quest 3 even if you’re just borrowing a friends headset.
Upload before bed, dope 😎 goodnight Bryan!

Well that's disappointing. I was intrigued by this one. The idea of altering a puzzle tower then jumping into it to explore MC Escher-esque environments is appealing. Seems like it really was built for MR and maybe hand-tracking (hence the opening/closing your hand for node teleportation) with the VR version being an afterthought. At very least they could've used eye-tracking to make the node selection more reliable. Ah well, just another instance where the idea had promise but the execution was underwhelming. Great job as always with the review. 👍
Thanks for the review, I think I'll prefer Spin Rhythm XD this month.
Thank you for always telling the truth in VR game reviews, and not hype it up like all the KZread channels do. You guys are the best.
Seems like anybody interested in this game should just get Puzzling Places and if they already have Puzzling Places and gone through that base game content, there are many DLC including a new DLC they may not have yet. Puzzling Places is very polished in the puzzle interactions, the puzzle difficulty can be increased by hiding reference pictures or going up in number of pieces or using the randomize option. It also supports 2P online co-op with cross-play.

And there's a demo available, so people can try it out and see if they like it. I'd also recommend The Room VR: A Dark Matter, for a better puzzle experience. Still node based, but seems like it works better and has more interesting/varied puzzles and environments.
I'm genuinely interested in this title. Thank you for the review BP. Edit: Teleport locomotion in 2024? That's really disappointing.

Yes, like if we could move and had well-hidden teleportation points that would be cool, now without that you literally seem to be paralyzed.

Teleport locomotios is good in some games, awsome in The Room or Budget cuts
Thanks again! Great reviews! 👌
seriously why didn't they add eye tracking to select teleportation points? It would be much more accurate and fun, of course it wouldn't save the game but at least it would gain an extra point.
Wow, I had forgotten about Engram!
Can’t get basic movement right at this stage, what is going on with devs?

I think it's likely they built the game with the Apple Vision Pro in mind. Hence the gesture-like hand movement to teleport. VR seems like it was an afterthought.
Thanks for this review, Bryan-Paul! I thought I was gonna buy it, but all the issues you detailed would make me hate it.
Bought it anyway & I really liked it! I enjoy puzzlers though.
Oh, what a shame. I was kinda looking forward to this one. I'm a sucker for a puzzle game, so maybe I'll still pick it up in future if they fix some of the jankiness (or it goes on a deep, deep sale).
Saving me cashola, brother. Thank you 😊
Hopefully it won't be long before they add this to PS Plus. Thanks for the review Bryan
SoOo, BP ❤ are u telling me "Infinite inside" should be renamed to??? "Boring *Two hours* inside!?!" 😂🎉😂🎉 ..This game makes Ancient Dungeon look like a ten of 10.. Wait a second... I see what u did there! :) Thank you for making me buy Ancient Dungeon btw, BP!
Waiting for the PCVR Adapter.. 😏
That's disappointing. I was looking forward to this puzzle VR game. Guess I'll skip it then. Thanks for the review.
circumvent... the ol' reach-around.
Buen video xD.
👍👏👏
Infinite boredom
An excellent remake of Riven just dropped on PCVR and Quest. Wish we got a PSVR2 version as well instead of this shit.

Cyan Worlds is porting Firmament to PSVR 2 soon. If that sells decently I think (hope) they'll port Riven as well. It'd be perfect for PSVR 2. The quest version is too stripped back (for obvious reasons), and the PC VR version requires a very powerful PC. PSVR 2 would be a very compelling middle ground.

We totally need Riven for PSVR2
Great review. Appreciated. Think I’ll skip this one though.
Too bad, had potential. If they add smooth turning and full locomotion I’d probably check it out just for the setting and soundtrack
This game was 100% built around Mixed Reality. I honestly feel they should never have released it on PSVR2. I usually purchase every multi plat game on PSVR2 as it provides the absolute best experience in VR, but this is one that I grabbed on my quest 3 because it felt like MR was a key component and I can say without a doubt playing without mixed reality would turn this game from a mesmerizing experience into a dud. I would say anyone without at least quest pro level MR should skip it until they can play it on a quest 3 or at least a pro.
That's too bad. This one looked interesting. Maybe they'll kick the goal next time.
Disappointing to hear.. The trailer made this game seem much more in depth and intriguing. It gave me the impression that there would be some wild moments that showcase reality-breaking spaces, illusions and geometry.
Thanks for saving me ££
Ah thats a shame, and sounds like even if movement was fixed in the future it wouldn't improve the base gameplay.
Agh. The movement control options alone put me off this game. No dice.
This is such a shame as I was looking forward to playing this but after the review I am not going anywhere near it now
That’s rather disappointing. I enjoy puzzle games & I was looking for a new game but this seems to be too shallow & repetitive for me. Thx for the review.
Thanks! Thanks for the review BP, I will avoid this one, cheers

I MISSED THIS ONE TOO! Wow I suck. And thank you again! :D
Oh how many pathetic quest fanboy is lurking in the comments section with their fake "i am a psvr2 owner but quest is better buy quest sony baad" comments... Quest is a garbage headset with weak battery and graphics from 2002... keep up the struggle.

Its a pass for me
Skip
In a year, this game will be patched and be good. Never buy games before they are finished.
Boring. Next.
