When Jax casts his Ability (3rd AA), he will gain infinite Range for a brief moment and the ability to jump to his target. So when Jax gained these stats, he was in Ekko's Taunt Range (since Ekko taunts every unit, of which Ekko is in Attackrange of). In Short, Jax is a Feminist.

@@zerotokraken That's not how it works, Jax only jumps to the next target locked on, he will not jump past the frontline immediately into their backline at the start of the round

taunt basicaly is coded to affect every unit that can target the taunting unit without moving a hex and since jax was ulting that exact moment and his ult has infinite range it could target the taunt without moving and thus jax jumped to ekko
