I haven’t really had a good chance to delve into Eurojank, but I got a fresh one today. Infernal: Hell’s Vengeance is the 2009 Xbox 360 port of 2007’s more simply titled Infernal, which was developed by Polish studio Metropolis, who’s best known finished game is probably Teenagent, as it’s free on Good Old Games, but they also briefly held the license for a game based on The Witcher in the late 90s, and funny enough would eventually become a part of CD Projekt Red shortly after finishing their first game, uh, The Witcher. Infernal is eurojank through and through, it’s a stilted American action movie, with cheesy one liners and dialogue that feels like it took a pass through Google translate, and it’s also an amalgam of a dozen better games- seemingly wanting to be Resident Evil 4, Half-Life, Max Payne, Gears of War, among others. Infernal’s Xbox 360 port, Hell’s Vengeance is perhaps the least bells and whistles port ever, lacking many common features that console ports of the day were well past implementing- autosaves and auto-aim stand out the most to make it a rough experience, but it has seen a bit of visual polishing, so that’s… something.
