Good question vicky. In fact there is no such correlation mentioned in Sturdevant's but logic suggests that Bacterial front comes under Infected dentine.

samer samer clinically you can differentiate based on color and also the extent of spread. Acute lesions are rampant, light colored & widespread compared to chronic lesions which are dark colored (due to extrinsic pigmentation) and localized.

Sir, what will happen if we remove entire discolouration front in case of acute carious lesion.

Hi Shruti, it's not necessary to remove entire discoloration as bacterial front is well behind discoloration front in acute caries as discussed in the video. What happens if we remove?
