Infant Education - Montessori home tools for the 1st year of life

A introduction to the acclaimed DVD work shop - Bringing Out the Brilliance In Your Infant : a practical guide for Montessori in the Home, by Montessori educator - Tamara Sheesley Balis.
Transform your home into an infant's best classroom for optimal childhood development.
The Montessori method refers to "the absorbent mind" to describe the learning process of the child. Whatever the child is exposed to, whatever the infant hears, sees and feels - these are all uploaded directly into the brain. The child is forming a life-long map of how the world feels looks and works. The foundation of the brain, body and spirit come directly from the family's interaction with the child and the child's environment.
Our mission is to inspire parents who want to implement Montessori principles in their home, but aren't sure where or how to start - as well as those who already know and love Montessori, and want more tools for creating a Montessori family. We provide encouragement, guidance, support and a network for parents who are dedicated to raising happy, well-adjusted, independent and contributing world citizens.

Why Not Montessori It amazes me how focused this child is on her toys, even retrieving the ball, and actively setting up the toy so she can play with it correctly. Are most Montessori infants this attentive and aware?

Ashley Casey Yes, it's beautiful to witness. From my experience with Montessori I have seen most if not all infants in Montessori develop strong concentration and problem-solving early on.

Why Not Montessori awesome! Also, I visited your channel you seem to be the Montessori expert, lol. With that said, I was wondering if you knew if sensitive periods end at 6 yrs old? Or are there more of them as the child grows older?

Ashley Casey Hi Ashley!! Thank you! Yes, sensitive periods "end" at six. This marks the first plane of development. 6-12yrs old is the second plane (intellectual independence, moral sense and social organization), 12-18yrs old is the third plane (adolescence-self in society, valorization, justice and dignity) and 18-24yrs is the fourth (economic independence and leadership). I hope this helped! :)

The teaching of children like this should not be done at this age.It is turning people into automotons.Children should be outside in NATURE!!!! Imagination should be allowed for.

That's what montessori is. Being close to nature just like the Steiner method.
