1- Let's all hope that Justin Wilson pulls through this time, as he has from bad injuries in the past. 2- Thanks for the quick upload. 3- It's Round 15, actually. 4- When there are four or five cars wide in a corner, it's Pack Racing, just like at Fontana, which was also entertaining and sickeningly dangerous. Can it continue? 5- Paul Tracy called him Danger Boy, and I call him Surge Carom. 6- Rahal needs to get rid of the bib on his overalls, and his fuel man. 7- Will Power actually showed some maturity with how he handled his pit stop problems. Last year he probably would have compromised Dixon's pit exit by over-reacting. 8- It's really been Montana's year. Go JPM!

Thanks for the post . I grew up in that area and was at the first race there in 1968 . Hope Justin Wilson has a full recovery .

Thanks as always for the post because here in the UK,BT stole the series from SKY,which means I watch the race here on KZread a few days later and although I know Justin died,I didn't know the final result 'til now.....I can't say anything else....yes I can...Justin was one of the nicest guys in ANY sport!

Its time that Indy Car switch over the Jet Canopies like what the F-16 Viper has. This is a great compromise between what LMP1 has become in the WEC and the Red BULL X2010 design. It would probably look BETTER anyways, and much safer.

Fábio Queirós Wheldon was also wrong place at the wrong time,but it's different because he got shot up into the air and into the fences while Justin got a big piece of debris against his helmnet and head at a high speed. Anyhow,R.I.P both of them.

Just as Massa, and Hinchcliff the impact was to the head from flying parts/ FIA has mandated a design for enclosed cockpit.. It is the same kind of transition that saw internal fuel tanks (barchetta) that nearly drown sir jacky Steward and moved them to side pods

When I found out about Justin's condition after the crash, I had a feeling he would pass away, similar to Jules Bianchi. RIP Justin

I think now it's pretty sure that open wheel or, open cockpit race cars will get a canopy.

Another awful day for IndyCar. When will the buffoons running this series start listening to the drivers? They've been complaining about these cars being unstable on superspeedways all year. So what do the officials do? Threaten to fine them for complaining. My thoughts are with Justin's family.

The teams are free to run more downforce. The complaints that drivers had after Fontana was about having too much downforce. They would've preferred the cars to be looser so that they didn't stick to each other so much

steveninthe not at all. They wanted to be allowed to adjust the kit combinations without restriction. The kits are capable of many downforce combinations. The series put limits on how many modifications they could make. So the drivers and teams didn't want to get rid of the kits but instead wanted the freedom to make adjustments as promised.

The problem here is an inherently unsafe car. It's horribly inferior to the old Reynards and Lolas. But a lack of competition overall among suppliers, etc., resulted in this situation where you have what are essentially spec cars, all racing at the same speed with the same downforce, all vying fairly equally for the same piece of real estate. Just look at the Indy Lights cars in the late 90s on super speedways. They used to run 7 and 8 wide around Fontana. It was incredibly exciting, but they were lucky lo one got hurt, and that Indy Lights Lola chassis was superior to this hot mess of a car from Dallara.

well, sadly, Justin Wilson has died of his injury and he became the first and the last Indycar race car driver to die in Indycar series championships in 2015 since his fellow British 2-time Indycar 500 Champion Dan Wheldon in 2011 fatal crash at last Vegas in 2011. Our Prayers are with Justin Wilson family at this sad time of the year in 2015. R.I.P Justin Wilson :(

Qualified racing officials run Indycar racing, not drivers. Drivers are wholly unqualified to make decisions regarding any aspect of how races are conducted. Such decisions require experience, education and knowledge of racing the come and go nature of drivers simply don't have.

Flick: Are you joking? The clowns who officiate Indycar are hardly qualified to make life or death decisions. They are far too subject to influence by the engine and chassis sponsors. Very few of them have any real race engineering experience. The fatality rate alone compared to other major series should demonstrate to you that Indycar is sadly on need of a serious safety overhaul. And don't misunderstand me : the on track safety team (Simple Green/Holmatro) led by Dr. Steve Olvey is by FAR the best in the world. The problem is engineering and managing the engine/chassis builders.
