I think I will go with this. The other names are good, but they just don't have the same ring as The Mega Farm to me. This will be called the Mega Farm v3, and the original and updated will be v1 and v2 respectively. I will probably still give nicknames like "Improved" or "Original" to each version going forward. Some other names I really liked are the Hemp-inator from Gie Sazon and Tergidy Farm from Spooky ATLien and Gilles

Fr, I used to hate it when people with 2000 hours shit on me on top of their armored hemp base, now I can at least stand a decent chance against them.

Prior to this video I have never used fluids & electricity system in rust and I have no idea if it's something i did wrong but when i used a medium battery in the water pump & fluid pump building like in the rustician site it didn't have enough output to suffice the pump's needs, therefore i used a large one and it went perfectly. (don't know if i did something bad or if it's a mistake, no worries)

Suggestion for farming base name: The HEMP-inator

I just commented on your old video. I'm rly big on farming efficiency and just saw this video of yours. Interesting research! Here are my numbers for comparison. 2.77 planters per light, 3 planters per sprinkler, 12 planters per pumps (10.5 for you if I remove the salt water/water purifier from the equation). You have a slight better ratio on sprinklers but they are cheap to buy. For me the biggest gain are from electricity used, therefore lights and water pumps. I could probably fiddle with it a tiny bit and I might be able to improve it further a tad bit with a LOT of research time on build servers. I'm glad to see someone who took the time and posted his result on YT. Feel free to contact me if you want to exchange test results

managed to reduce my lighting even further. 12 lights per 36 planters (6X6) with the top floor having 14 lights. Making it ultra efficient. The more floor the better. on a 5 floor farm, I run 62 lights, making it a 2.9 planters per light ratio

can now do 3 planters per light all across.... the real money shot here is about how to get the most out of your water pumps

I like it as an alternative to raiding etc. I hope facepunch doesn't nerf it anymore because you have to make it worth it in the end for people to want to do it.

I just set up my first ever floor of mega farm. I messed up one of the 7th planter placements so it doesn't get water but all the other ones work okay at least with one plant in them. Almost shed a tear of joy. I'd be interested to know how you would heat this in a snow biome.

Just made my first mega farm accidentally in the snow; you need a ring of planters with open 1x1's somewhere central to each floor to place a couple extra heaters. mine's going fine now heat-wise, just have water issues with my pump house design.

i did this on the server i main...well your old design (will be updating upon force wipe) and yielded anough scrap to gamble for 3 days after unlocking all bps with expirements lol

I only get 3 clones from each plant instead of 5. Am i doing something wrong? Great guide, made basically exactly this and have a v.efficient setup i think, just 3 clones instead of 5 means I have to harvest approx 14 of the 42 boxes which eats into profits

So with the water purifiers, do you still use them even if you are building in fresh water or do you use large water catchers?

If you have a fresh source of water (lake or river) you don't need the water purifiers. In that case you would use 2 pumps per 3 7-planter groups or 2 pumps per 6 sprinklers. You never use water catchers because they generate too little water. If you don't use purifiers, you could also get rid of the 4th floor, since it is there just for the purifiers. You could then move the battery to where the stairs for the 4th floor went

For fresh water, you just need 2 pumps per 6 sprinklers, and then you just exclude the purifiers

I guess that more time is spent on cloning. so in the new wipe you can increase your record almost 2 times. For collecting clones will be 2 3 times faster now

@@Radaa5 some feature idea's i would suggest - 1) if your not going to go web app then make your controls triggers on others events f or ease of input, 2) perhaps allowing a input for what genetics you WANT and it will output the seeds to use to get that result based on your list of seeds you have?
