Indoor Cyclamen: 11 Mistakes to AVOID!

In today's video, we're diving deep into the world of indoor Cyclamen. These vibrant houseplants can add a burst of color to your winter months, but there are common mistakes you'll want to steer clear of to ensure their healthy growth. Stick around till the end, and let's get started on cultivating the perfect environment for your Cyclamen.
*[TEMPERATURE]*
"First up, the temperature. Growing Cyclamen in a warm room can trigger dormancy, and placing them in a sunny spot behind glass is just too intense. Find that sweet spot to keep them flourishing."
*[WATERING]*
"Now, let's talk watering. Leaving them in standing water or bottom watering when there are crocks in the pot is a big no-no. And don't let them wilt! Proper hydration is key."
*[FEEDING]*
"Next on the list is feeding. Neglecting to feed your Cyclamen is a common mistake. They need nutrients to thrive, so don't skip this crucial step in their care routine."
*[RE-POTTING]*
"Moving on to re-potting. Using a pot that's too large or avoiding re-potting altogether can stunt their growth. Learn the right way to give your Cyclamen the space it needs."
*[DEAD-HEADING]*
"Don't forget dead-heading! Neglecting this task can trigger dormancy. Keep those blooms coming by removing spent flowers."
*[DORMANCY]*
"Understanding dormancy is vital. Expecting 'minis' to go through dormancy or tossing them out without realizing they're perennials are common mistakes. Let's set the record straight."
*[LIGHT]*
"Lastly, light matters. Placing your Cyclamen in shade instead of bright light can, you guessed it, trigger dormancy. Find the ideal lighting conditions for these beauties."
"There you have it, folks! I hope these tips help you navigate the world of indoor Cyclamen. If you still have questions, fear not! Loved this. Personally , i seem to do quite well with them. Never any mites , or sudden deaths or loss of blooms. However , i ALWAYS loose them due to what i presume to be a fungal infection on the root ball itself , usually a short time after cutting leafs or blooms down. Guessing this is now likely to the fact ive made cuts when its medium is still wet or moist..

Yeah the way to do it is reduce watering as the leaves naturally yellow for dormancy. So by the time they’re all ready for cutting off the media is bone dry. The tubers can still rot of course but it’ll reduce the chances of it happening.
