A lot of people don't like the music video but in the parts when they were killing themselves or getting hurt they were representing them moving on from the past and forgetting their old selves hence why they were wearing their old masks when it would happen.

and it actually is represented in a manor they themselves fear the most. For example "long nose guy" Chris Fehn is scared of birds. The DJ eats his arms because he fears losing them, because without them he can't play. And Craig is afraid of dogs etc... :)

The reason for them all being killed in the music video was to represent their worst fears causing their deaths, and by accepting those fears was a way for them to move on into a new chapter. They had recently lost their bassist to a drug overdose, and their drummer left the band. So this was the beginning of a new album cycle where they introduced a new bassist and drummer, who were the two guys in the wheelchairs. The reason why they were stabbed to death in the video by the other band members was to represent their initiation into the band similar to how gangs jump new initiates. The video overall is very creepy but has really solid artistic meaning. Glad you liked the song! :)

Well hello there all bright and bubbly 🤩

They have often had a video from each album that symbolically represents them moving on from their past. In Psychosocial they took giant masks that were worn for a previous photoshoot and burned them on stakes during the music video. In this one they wore their old masks during the video sections where they die and their new masks during the sections showing them performing... this symbolizing moving on from the past or conquering old demons

They are also facing their fears. People think they do it all for shock value but there is deep, honest and truths meanings behind the songs.

Unfortunately this isn't a video for new people to be introduced to slipknot and understand the meaning of it. This song and video is for those of us that were fans at the press conference when they announced Paul's death. That understood why Joey was no longer in the band. Those of us who were maggots from the self titled and Iowa days. Not to say it's not a great song it is. And I absolutely believe everyone that becomes a fan of slipknot should watch this video. But only after you know the meaning and symbolism
