Indie Games. The Return Of Creativity

Ойындар

Indie Games vs AAA games is a very hot subject these days. On the one hand you will see so many forgettable efforts in the indie game market but on the other you will find so many engaging and original ideas that are brimming with creativity and passion.
Copy and paste, risk averse videogame releases are really starting to grate on the gaming community, especially as the cost of these titles continues to sore, disproportionate to their quality. Publishers expect us to tolerate their unfinished products with questionable monetisation practices and heavy bug content, whereas Indie developers are pushing out pure, perfected works or art, and we the gaming public say it is about damn time.

Why indie games are better than aaa games is a matter of much debate. It's a increasingly popular opinion, with more and more gamers only too happy to tell you why indie games are better and what indie games to play. In this video we will look at how originality used to be celebrated in videogames, and starting with minecraft, the indie game scene was able to reintroduce new and enduring ideas into the videogame market. Gamers jaded by years of cookie cutter aaa titles are having their passion for videogames reignited by innovative and engaging from the indie game scene, and one day we soon we might just be asking how and why indie games killed aaa.

@@justinian1226 definietly, but i think im just so used to seeing vids with a "K'" at the end of their viewcount that 220 doesnt seem like much in comparison

Amazing storytelling in this video my friend! I loved how you started it off with a throwback to when AAA developers cared more about innovation and how indie games has taken over creativity now! Such a good video!!!

There's so much money to be made in the gaming industry - single games can sell millions and make billions. This means that triple A games have gotten greedier than ever - but it also means that a team of just two or three can put out a great game and make a tidy profit.

Got randomly recommended this video. Saw the view count and thought it'll be another of those context-less stock footage with horrible quality mic narration. What I stumbled upon was a true hidden gem. Did not disappoint. Keep the same kind of quality rolling! :)

indie game and AA game are different things. Like Hi Fi Rush is a AA game developed by Tango Gameworks who isn't indie they are under Microsoft. The "indies are cheaper" lie needs to die. If I spend 91 hours in Final Fantasy Rebirth at a cost of $70 or i spend 8 hours in hi fi rush for $20. I got more bang for my buck with final fantasy. I don't like this idea that "Indie games are the future" because they fail to make any return 96% of the time and 75% of indie developers who finish a game never make another one. The numbers are dire for indies we just don't focus on the 96% failures.

Those are fair comments, and perhaps the future title wasn’t the best choice for this video. I was coming from an angle of indie games injecting originality back into gaming vs formulaic aaa releases (tho admittedly ff7 rebirth is spectacular). Thanks for commenting.
